The various seat post and roll bar mounts that GoPro makes haven't worked for me on my large American-made motorcycle. But this RAM mount works great on the bike's engine bars and gives the camera an excellent view in multiple directions.As other reviewers have noted, the machine screw/nut/washer that RAM provides to attach the camera to the mount certainly work well, but don't provide the same easy adjustment as GoPro's thumbscrew and acorn nut. So ditch the RAM hardware and use Gopro's screw and nut. Use a bit of superglue to secure the GoPro acorn nut to RAM's GoPro adapter. Also, I suggest one thickness of duct tape around the engine bar to protect your chrome when you place the mount.When you're out on your bike and stop at a roadside store or whatever, just loosen the adjusting knob on the RAM mount and remove it and the camera from the bike and stash them in your locking saddlebag, or take them with you. The u-bolt and baseplate left attached to your bike will likely be of little interest to thieves.This is a well-engineered product which I highly recommend.

When it comes to gopro accessories for some reason the company itself is usually behind the curve. Gopros mount is very restricted as far as the angles the camera can be set at. This is by far the best handlebar mount out there. Its the only one I've found that allows the gopro to be aimed in any direction.The ball mount just makes sense and is very reliable. I use it on my harley and am skeptical when it comes to equipment like this because I ride hard and fast and don't really like the thought of something snapping and my gopro flying off. By just looking at this mount in person I had no worry about its capability to perform safely. The footage comes out as smooth as can be being that it is on a handlebar. Its easy to setup and take off and if you wanted to use a phone in place of the gopro Ram makes a reliable phone holder that can be used in tandem with this mount.

Instead, they ship the GoPro adapter with a nylock nut, a tiny machine screw, and a washer expecting this to be used in lieu of the GoPro thumbscrew. One can easily re-use their thumbscrew, but the Acorn nuts have to be swapped over from leftover GoPro mounts or purchased, but they are not retained in the RAM GoPro adapters! This allows the nuts to be easily lost.The rubber balls on the RAM mounts combined with the stout center assembly are the biggest selling points of the RAM mounts. It puts the other brands to shame! However, I am not a big fan of the sheet metal screws used to attach the ball assembly to the base. I could understand if it was lean manufacturing to reduce the number of specialized adapters, but almost all of the RAM mounts use the ball assembly. It would have been more secure and practical to produce an integrated ball assembly for each of the bases. That way I could still swap between mounts but bypass the need for the 2 sheet metal screws that could strip out the plastic or fail over time.I would have liked to see the ball assembly integrated into the u-bolt mount. I also would have liked to see the thumbscrew included, or at least provide an acorn nut or nylock nut that is retained in the plastic GoPro adapter. This way the end user can simply reuse the GoPro thumbscrew without digging around for extra nuts. The machine screw included with the RAM mount is a smaller diameter that isn't as secure as the GoPro screw, and as a result the included nylock nut (which is too small to retain in the housing anyhow) has a smaller thread diameter that does not allow the use of the GoPro thumbscrew. It's almost as if RAM designed the GoPro adapters as a secondary after thought.The u-bolt mount is ok. It has limited functionality based on the tube diameter. I probably would have preferred a clamp mount because it is more secure on different tube sizes. The U-bolt could also crush/dent tubes if tightened too much, and it can mar painted surfaces making it unsuitable for bicycle frames, motorcycle handlebars, or motorcycle trellis frames.Overall: 4/5 stars. I don't like how RAM included the GoPro adapter without proper GoPro hardware. The use of sheet metal screws to secure the ball assembly to the base is also cheaply done. It should have been integrated from the get-go and still allow for lean manufacturing principles. Otherwise it is a very solid mount.

Nice high quality professional mount for your GoPro Camera. Holds camera with no movement but adjusts quickly and easily. I had problems with the GoPro brand handlebar not staying tight on my carbon bars. Not with this one it stays where you put it and isn't affected by vibrations. I liked the Ram mount so much I bought the suction cup mount so I could attach to the windshield in my car. Price was about the same as the GoPro brand mount maybe less but the quality is much higher. Ram mount also feels more substantial. This is the same company that makes mounts for military and law enforcement use. Highly recommended.

Excellent product if you want to secure you're gopro to a motorbike. Very stable. If your frame vibrates a great deal (sorry HD lovers) then you may have to find some way to dampen that because the video will be difficult to watch. There is software processing that can stabilize the image a bit more. But for track days or for smooth roads, this works very well on my motorbikes. It would be great to have 4 cameras on the bike to catch various angles and then edit a short clip from different viewpoints.

The camera likes to swivel down while on my bike. I wish the plastic was a little grippier so the camera wouldn't point down at the ground all the time.

Para mi es perfecto para lo que lo compre, instalado en una BMW 1250 GS en la varilla del espejo, me permite conectar la cámara y hacer fotos, lo mas importante saber si la cámara esta conectada o no, al estar instalada a la altura de mi cara, veo perfectamente las luces del estado. Ademas vibra muy poco.

Mittlerweile hat sich das Produkt wohl zum Guten verbessert (gegenüber der vorhandenen negativen Rezension):- Die Muttern für den U-Bügel entsprechen einer SW12 und sind daher mit einer 12er Nuss zu behandeln- Die Spannvorrichtung funzt super mit einer GoPro Hero2 als auch mit einer Qumox SJ4000- Einziger Makel sind die "lackierten" Muttern, die nach dem Festschrauben via Nuss ihre Farbe teilweise verlieren.Für mich ist das mit Abstand die flexibelste Halterung auf dem Markt - ich habe damit meine Action Cam am Schutzbügel einer Triumph Tiger 1050 montiert. Leider sind nahezu alle Flächen, Rohre und Verschraubungen an Motorrädern "krumm" im Sinne eines beliebigen Winkels gegenüber der Längs- oder Querachse des Motorrads. Mit dem regulären GoPro-Zubehör lässt sich das zwar ausgleichen (damit die Cam gerade steht), allerdings nur über einen kreativen Mix von mind. 2-3 (eher 4) Querwinkeln - dies wiederum führt zu "Sollwackelstellen" und macht das aufgenommene Bild nicht stabiler.Mit der Ram-Mount und der stufenlosen Verstellung durch zwei Kugelgelenke lässt sich die Cam absolut beliebig ausrichten - bei minimalem Platzbedarf (habe statt dem 90er Arm einen 60er Arm verbaut) und bombenfester Montage.

Es muy sólido y aguanta bien, pero mejor para un movil que para soporte de una gopro por que transmite muchas vibraciones al no llevar nada que las amortigüe.

Trotz des attraktiven Preises sind alle 3 Komponenten in Originalverpackung der Firma aus den USA verpackt.Ich habe das gleiche RAM Mount bereits für eine Touratech Halterung für das iPhone am Motorrad im Einsatz und mich auch schon wegen der gemachten guten Erfahrungen wieder dafür entschieden. Robust, schnell einstellbar und fest, wie es erwartet wird.Wenn als jemand so wie ich eine Halterung für die GoPro benötigt, ist dies eine absolute Kaufempfehlung. Einzige Einschränkung ist bei Verwendung auf einer EVO-Harley, da hier der Motor nicht Gummi gelagert ist und daher die Vibrationen wie bekannt bis in den Lenker übertragen werden und das abhängig von der Drehzahl trotz der beiden Gummiknöpfe der RAM Mount zu (wirklich ganz) leichten 'verzitterten' Aufnahmen führen kann, wobei die GoPro 90% davon gut ausgleicht.
