Bought for a Rover V8 remote filter conversion which hasn't got a bypass valve (the standard engine has the valve in the oil filter casting). These have the bypass valve built in the top of the filter (which is good) not the bottom (which is bad) and they're a lot bigger than the standard filter too (also good).

Wix is one of the more reliable filter makers, but it's hard to tell if an oil or filter is doing the job. Even a car with no oil/filter changes can last 60K or more. People like to use the cheapest oil and filters but it doesn't really show up until your engine dies at 200K miles and a post mordem is done. Was it the filter? Was it the cheap oil? Was it going the factory 8 to 12K miles intervals? All I know if Wix is a company that has decent standards while some others are trying to be the low cost mfgr. I'm hoping these filters are genuine because my 1994 truck needs to last... and the price I paid was outstanding.
