Decent 1TB external flash drive but it seems not to register or appear on older generation devices.

Good and very small SSD. Its just what I wanted, and just about twice the width of a standard flash drive. This drive does exactly what its supposed to do and fast enough for anything I'd ever use it for. I took a chance on a cheaper, no-name drive and it seems like I made a good decision. My belief is that they're all made overseas (and we know where) and are all much more alike than different. I'm not saying this is the case, but they're all likely made in the same couple of factories over in that Asian country. Last, it comes with a small fuzzy carry case, with a drawstring. For the price, I'd buy this drive again.

Very nice, sleek, easy to set up. Comes with a little cord and a keeper of some kind. Also, the fittings are very tight, a sign of good tolerances. Also, its just a plain c drive input, not that STUPID bi c drive wierd thing.

I bought four of these Vansuny 2TB Portable External SSD, USB 3.1 Gen2 for a zfs file system a year or so ago. One didn't mount at all, doa, but I waited too long for return. The second crapped out about a week into usage, a total loss of data and the other two worked intermittently for a couple of months until I replaced with two Samsungs and two Kingstons. I has a miserable experience with these drives and highly recommend against using them. This was more than just drawing one lemon out of the lot, but total failure on a backup file system that was barely used.

A great little USB3 SSD for a great price! I was initially very disappointed as the Mac Mini running Ventura did not want to let me partition the unit into 4 equal APFS volumes, even after a couple of overall erases (came as ExFAT). But I succeeded in the partitioning (HFS+) using an ancient iMac with Snow Leopard, then brought it back to the newer machine for APFS. After that first disappointment, it has run smoothly. Speed test is not super impressive, but it's working OK. Confused to see J-Micron show up on the AmorphousDiskMark speed test, as the box is labelled Vasuny. That review was 2023 500GB unit. We also bought 250GB unit in 2022, excellent. Except that 4k segments precludes boot of Raspberry Pi. August 2025 based on success of that 2023 purchase, we bought another 500GB unit. BUT, speed is only 40GB/s vs. prior purchase 2023 which does 350GB/s – should I return it?

Tried to use these as a SSD on a Raspberry Pi and They were not stable enough to run reliably.. I tried them with just plugging in to a usb3 via usbc adapter and would run about 10 hrs and crash. My son had the same problem I tried a powered hub and they ran longer but still crashed. They may work on a regular PC but I didn't try but my son is using his in that application and seem to be OK. They sent a cable and an adapter which was a nice addition. Which they would have worked for my Rasp Pi4
