Good movie
Great movie. A lot of characters introduced from the comics. Story was interesting and entertaining. My favorite scene was when Spider-Ham came along and said, "It can get weirder".

Great fun playing with all kinds of Spider Man elements
I'm not a big Marvel Comic Universe geek, and my favorite Spider Man remains Toby Maguire. I watched the TV cartoon that the movie references, and I caught some other bits and pieces too - plus the inevitable Stan Lee cameo. That said, I'm sure there were plenty of things that a true Spider Man/Marvel Comics aficionado would catch that I missed. What I love about this movie is how much fun it has playing with the whole Spider Man mythology...if that's the right word. It both takes it seriously and doesn't hesitate to poke it in the eye, and that's where so much of the fun occurs. The movie is dynamic, irreverent, yet respectful and celebratory. Watching it, I got the feeling that the people behind it were having a heckuva a good time, and they enlisted a lot of terrific talent for the voices. Lily Tomlin is an inspired choice as Aunt May, and I love the performance Brian Tyree Henry gives as Miles's father - especially the scene when he's talking to Miles over the PA of his police cruiser, which gave me one of the biggest laughs of the movie. It was a great "Dad moment." Mahershala Ali as Miles's cool-but-shady Uncle Aaron is terrific too, and Liev Shreiber is perfect as Kingpin. I really enjoyed having a female Doc Oc (Kathryn Hahn) in this version too - every inch the clever and diabolical villain, and a wicked twist on the original. The animation took some adjustment at first, but I quickly got comfortable with it. By the end, I was thoroughly enjoying it, and I found the whole thing really satisfying. There are lots of powerful themes about family, love and loss, but I think the movie handles them all pretty adroitly, interspersing humor and enough visual razzle-dazzle to keep everyone engaged. And though I'm not a big fan of rap and hip-hop, I thought the soundtrack fit the movie beautifully. In short, I think this is a great movie. It's a serious homage to Spider Man while being fun, funny, and irreverent too. It held up just as well on the second viewing, and I'll be watching it again. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Spider Man.

A truly must-see film!!!
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-verse stands as one of the best and unique movies to come out in some time. Its quality transcends simple labels such as "animated" and "superhero". It stands at the pinnacle thanks to its spectacular characters, amazing soundtrack, and phenomenal art style. Animated in the style of a literal comic book, the artists took full advantage of what they have created to bring to life a living comic book. Any frame looks like it was lifted from the page. The mastery of color and motion means your eyes will always have something great to look at. The humor is top notch. Full of blink and you'll miss it moments of humor weaved into some laugh-out-loud jokes. At the same time, it doesn't come off as too quipy. While a comedy at heart, it is a deeply emotional moments. You'd be hard pressed not to feel something while witnessing Mile's journey of self discovery. The cast is wonderful, with two particular stand outs being Shameik Moore's Miles Morales and Nicholas Cage's Spider-Man Noir. Moore does an excellent job capturing Mile's youth, inexperience, and insecurities. His performance really helps connect you to a character most people might have heard of in passing. Cage may not have a great deal of lines or moments, but every moment he is on screen is joyous. His performance stands as a great example of all the characters who might not have a great deal of screen time, but who are still memorable in the time we have with them. Top it all of with a truly killer soundtrack, and you have one of the very best animated movies...one of the very best comic book super hero movies...one of the very best movies we've had in a long time

O combo perfeito!

A new Spider-Man movie. Somewhat different to all that have come before. This draws on a comic called Ultimate Spider-Man, which for the uninitiated was part of a range that were totally free of regular Marvel comics continuity, and thus could do whatever they wanted with key characters. After a while in the run, Peter Parker died, and was replaced as Spider-Man by a teenager called Miles Morales. This is a fresh take on the whole thing. And tells Miles origin story. And then some. Miles is a gifted student, struggling with a move to a new school. When he happens to get the same powers as Spider-Man, and then sees him die, it looks as if a superheroic destiny awaits. But of course it's as never easy as that. He has a lot to learn. Lots to measure up to. And there are others with the same powers suddenly in the world with him. Not all of them are human. If he can't measure up quick, then it's not just his universe that will be destroyed.... You will never have seen anything like this before. Because the animation really does make it look like a comic onscreen. it's incredible to look and amazingly well done. But it's not just flashy visuals. Because it's got a great script to go with it. It's the story of a young man learning how to be a hero, and it does that well. But it's also a buddy comedy. It's about friendship and responsibility. And love and loss. And so many other things. The multiverse concept does allow for some fresh takes on existing ideas. The writing is ever so clever. And the character interaction amazing. There are some great vocal performance from those playing the other Spider folk. And it's probably one of the best bits of acting Nicolas Cage has done in a while. Parents do be aware there's a lot of people dealing with grief in here, so there are as many sad as fun moments. Thus it might be a little much for the under sevens. And epileptics and those bothered by flashing lights will need to be careful with a few moments. But otherwise, it's great and original film making, and well worth five stars. Do keep watching to the end of the closing credits. But don't read them, otherwise you will get a spoiler for what's there... The dvd begins with an ad then a trailer. Both can be skipped via the next button on the dvd remote. The trailer is in the previews section of the extras anyway. Language and subtitles on it are: Languages: English, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Finnish. English audio descriptive. Subtitles: English, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Polish, Swedish. Extras: Film maker's commentary. An animated short featuring Spider-Ham, called 'Caught in a Ham'. A very funny five min long Looney Tunes style cartoon. Ultimate comics cast: a fourteen min feature about casting the actors. A really good watch. Tribute to Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. A touching nine min long tribute to Spider-Man's creators. Spider-Man ultimate fan easter egg challenge. A five min long look at some of the cameos and other references in the film. Very interesting and will make you look at some scenes again. Lyrics vids: pop videos for two songs that come from the film soundtrack. Sunflower and Familia. Both run roughly three mins and can be watched individually or in a row. The former is a better video, as it uses film clips. The latter doesn't.
