4D Gear Trekking Poles -Venture-

I used my pole throughout the ups and downs of 6 national parks in Colirado and Utah. Helped me negotiate trails in all.my husband occasionally used other pole and liked its versatility. Easy to set, lock in, and change as trail warrants. Highly recommend!

Used on a short hike . The ground was covered in wet leaves and the ground it self soft and muddy . These trekking poles helped me to keep up right many a time dureing this hike

Heavier than we'd like.

These aluminum alloy hiking poles weigh an average of 315 g or a little over 11 oz. each. They are not the lightest poles available, but they are very sturdy and shouldn't fail when most needed.The grips have a rubbery end with formed cork below. The straps are easy to adjust by pulling out a stopper and have a sueded strip for comfort.There are two flip clamps, a two-part system with both a screw for initial adjustment and a clamp for regular use, so that if a clamp eventually loosens, it can be tightened. They are very secure, yet lock and unlock quickly and easily.The tips are the standard size with tungsten carbide points that are just under 1/8 in. long. Rubber feet and 3 1/2 in. threaded snow baskets are included. The tips can be removed by wedging them in something very sturdy and pulling the lower section out of them.Maximum length in use is 137 cm or 54 in. The center section is marked from 105 to 135 cm in 1 cm increments, but for greatest strength, the two lower sections should be extended equal amounts so the overlaps are equal.The poles are about 62.5 cm or 24 5/8 in. long when collapsed and 52 cm or 20 1/2 in. long when disassembled.TIP: Watch a video on how use hiking poles, as it is a learned technique. I am an experienced hiker, and have used my Leki trekking poles for a couple years. Trekking poles take stress off your knees, can give you a pace boost, and help you maintain your balance. Any serious hiker or even a street walker can use trekking poles.These 4D Gear Venture trekking poles were sent to me in exchange for an honest review. When I’m on a long 7+ hour hike, I want less weight and more comfort. These poles won’t replace my Leki trekking poles, however they are more costly. Although, the 4D Gear Venture trekking poles have many of the same features and benefits. These trekking poles are definitely worth considering if you’re searching for a more economical option.An interchangeable basket system allows easy removal/replacement, and provides extra support on soft terrain, durable carbide tip ends grip ice and rocks, and rubber tip covers offer slip resistance on flat surfaces.The Speed Lock system is similar to what is found on my photography equipment. The twist lock systems work well, but sometimes, as seen with some of my teammates, the twist lock may not be completely engaged causing slippage during use. Since I was familiar with how the mechanism works, and I could confirm the sections were locked in place I decided this was the best choice for me.The 4D Gear Venture trekking poles have many of the same features as my Leki poles. The main differences include a positive angle grip on the Lekis which are more comfortable as well as weighing less. 4D Gear Trekking PolesThis is our first experience with Trekking poles.My son had a camping trip recently so when I was offered to review these I decided it would be perfect for the trip.These are quality poles and are easy to use but there are videos out there for some to get the hang of how to properlywalk with trekking poles.They are so sturdy and lightweight so they did not add much at all to the weight of his pack.The wrist straps are very comfortable when using and when not in use you can hang these up by the straps if you would like.We have woods in the back of the house and now all the kids love to reach for these before going on the trails.They are easy to adjust to different heights which is good since each child has to change it to fit them when using. There are 2 locking devices - little black tab type things on each pole so you can adjust them to the height you need. They have markers on them so you can see what height you have set them at.I received these for free for my honest review of them.

Because I have health issues that affect my balance, these trekking poles are perfect when I walk or hike. Now that the weather is cooler, I will be able to take longer walks and not worry about stumbling or falling!
