Very good product
It is easy to install but remember that it is brand new, raw HD that requires initiation before you can do formatting. I am using it as a second HD for storage purposes. Data transfer is very good.

Part failed. Replacement failed.
I ordered this drive for a TiVo Bolt, as this is the OEM part. The drive worked for about an hour then failed. The seller replaced the drive and the second one worked for about a week. It cost me $12 to return the second drive per the seller’s instructions (USPS small flat rate box), after which the seller issued a refund. Seller did not answer my question as to whether this was a refurbished part.

Restored a TiVo Edge DVR Painlessly
I bought this hard drive to repair a TiVo Edge DVR that had a 2 TB hard drive that failed. For about $33 I was able to restore a TiVo Edge DVR that normally sells (with Life Time Service) for over $900. Recently TiVo has ben offering a limited time deal for a TiVo Edge with Life Time Service for around $300 so for even that price the $33 cost of this WD 1 TB hard drive is a bargain. As stated the original TiVo Seagate hard drive was 2 TB which provided 300 hours of HD recordings while this WD 1 TB hard drive will only provide about 150 hours of HD recordings - and I can live with that. Fortunately, the TiVo Edge formats the new hard drive automatically so other than the mechanical aspects of installing the new hard drive was a breeze.

Doesn't work in a Tivo
The drive itself is fine, but if you are thinking of putting this in your Edge or Bolt - it won't work.
