Luxury in the form of a book
This is one of the most beautiful books I own. The quality images, printing and paper scream luxury. I haven’t read it yet but look forward to turning each page. Absolute beauty.

A stunning book
This is a beautiful book, both the outer binding and the huge amount of illustrations within. I’ve only received this book today but it promises many hours of happy reading and also studying the hundreds of illustrations of Tarot cards from many centuries. It begins with a brief timescale of the development of Tarot and the card packs dating back to 1370 and it then gives the symbology and attributes of each card with several pages of different examples of each. Then there is a fuller history of Tarot with many additional chapters of different aspects of Tarot. There’s so much more that I could say about this book but I have a feeling it’s going to be my most loved book on the subject and I’m going back to it now.

Taschen never fail, the quality of their books is amazing,I saved to purchase this book "tarot" part of their library of esoterica series, much to my delight when I went to order it,I was lucky enough to find a warehouse deal and got it nearly half price, the book is superb it covers the history of the tarot, and is packed full of beautiful illustrations so is not only very interesting it is just a joy to look at,I have quite a large collection of books on the occult, but nothing comes close to this on the history of the tarot,if you are interested in the tarot and it's history,l would wholehearted recommend this book, even at full price for what it contains it is well worth the pennies, you will not be disappointed in any way shape or form,it really is stunning, treat yourself to this book, you will be so pleased that you did. It is lush.
Exception. Probably my favourite book in the library of Esoterica (and they are all good). Really well constructed and focussed. A good balance in focus between the Major Arcana which the bulk of the book focuses on, and the Minor Arcana, addressed with good detail too. The artwork is amazing and the diversity of tarot decks explore is awe inspiring. Great value for money. A beautifully rendered book.

Wow
I didn’t expect this book to be that big for the price. The quality is beyond my expectations, it’s interesting to see how the different ways the cards have been depicted over the centuries. Such an interesting book, it’s perfect for a coffee table book to engage conversations with friends curious about the Tarot as a whole. So glad I bought it.

Beautiful Reproductions
Beautifully designed and well written. Looking at Tarot's global history. Excellent colour reproductions. Might appear basic for those well versed in Tarot but even so an excellent book to add to the collection for it's wonderful layout and image selection.

A great read and fantastic quality.
This is the second book I have bought and I absolutely love them. The first one was Astrology and they are both sitting on my coffee table. The quality of these books are amazing, I love to pick them up every now and then and look at all the wonderful illustrations. I’m going to treat myself and buy one each month so I eventually have the whole set. 😊

Una raccolta interessante, le immagini sono straordinarie e affronta l'argomento regalando concetti rivisitati e aggiornati. Un testo che ogni collezionista amerà avere in casa. Consiglio questa lettura leggera a chiunque desideri una infarinatura generale.

Jessica Hundley's Tarot is a worthy spiritual successor to Stewart Kaplan's Encyclopedia of Tarot. The book is full of beautiful, clear pictures of a wide variety of Tarot decks, interspersed with essays on card meanings, divination, and Tarot as inspiration for art. The book also features essays from Penny Slinger, Johannes Fiebig, and Marcella Kroll. The Tarot illustrations in the book cover the whole range from very traditional decks like Rider-Waite-Smith deck and the Brotherhood of Light Tarot, all the way to much more avant-garde decks like Margarete Petersen Tarot and the Deviant Moon Tarot. Some of my personal favourites are included too, such as the Aquarian Tarot and the Star Tarot. All of the images are clearly reproduced and look great. The colours are very true (at least for the decks I have in my collection). The images are printed life-sized or larger (in general) on matte paper, which is the only possible drawback, but I don't mind since this makes the book easier to read in my opinion. As beautiful as the images are, don't skip over the words. Hundley's essays on the cards, especially the Major Arcana, are excellent. I also particularly enjoyed the thumbnail sketches of important Tarot artists and scholars in Part III, although I do wish it hadn't ended with Manly P. Hall but rather included some of the more modern Tarot scholars like Mary K. Greer and Barbara Walker. This is a book worthy of a place on any Tarot lover's bookshelf. The illustrations are stunning and the essays are top notch.

How can Taschen allow to publish a book with a font that is unreadable?! Nice picture book but random choices of images, not curated as it should.
