US Flag 3X5 ft (Embroidered stars - sewn stripes)

Bought this flag after using several (dozens) of others as we fly one or two 24-7 here in stormy, sunny, southern Alabama. This flag is the least expensive of the lot. When it arrived I was initially disappointed. It appeared thin and I really thought it was "cheesy"; glad that I had only bought one. Immediately hoisted it with the expectation it would be faded and in shreds soon. SURPRISE !! It's been up since February 14, 2013 and glows brightly as ever and flies wonderfully in anything more than a whisper of a breeze. As a 25 year Navy veteran it is inspiring; and reminds me of the United States that I served - in spite of todays current political travesties. UPDATE: 9-6-13 Flag has two small tears caused by several fierce windy days; color still acceptable after 24-7 since Feb. UPDATE: 1-9-14 Ordered 6 for a church that has been lethargic in display and maintenance of their flags (US and Christian). They hoisted this flag and its brilliance is visible a block away even with only a gentle breeze, beautiful !!!

When I received my flag and opened it out I was startled at the quality. The embroidered stars really stand out; I had not realized how much difference they would make. The sewn strips are dramatic and also look great. I've now had this flag only a few days, but it is definitely one of which any American can be proud. It is a thing of beauty; you can order it with confidence! Update 6-19-2010 I just got back from carrying this flag to a nearby major street as part of a community effort to pay our respects to a young Marine who had been killed in Afghanistan. The street was lined with flags held by hundreds of my neighbors along with hundreds more who wished to pay their respects to the family as the funeral procession drove down the street. It was an exceedingly touching event to see how many people had taken part in this community effort and cared about his death and the pain and sense of loss the family was feeling. It was a distinct privilege to be able to participate and hold my flag high along with hundreds of my neighbors. It was very encouraging to see how many Americans really care about this nation and the young men who defend it!

I was pleasantly surprised that the quality is very good at an unbelievable price. A similar flag at WalMart is twice the cost. I'm very happy with the purchase. *** UPDATE *** something has gone awry and different flags with significantly different quality are being confused at Amazon. I have bought the same flag several times over the past several years and it has been high quality with sewn stripes, embroidered stars and triple stitching. However, this last time I selected to "Buy It Again" and received an inferior product. It is very thin, to the point the red appears orangy, there are no embroidered stars and the only stitching is around the perimeter. I doubt it can withstand the windy conditions where I live. To top it off, it came with a sticker "Made in China." *** UPDATE #2 *** The seller advised me that the manufacturer changed the materials and quality. I asked that they remove the description of "embroidered stars and sewn on stripes" from the photos. The change should have resulted in a completely different product listing, not comingled with the previously superior one.

The flag is well made. The stars are indeed embroidered - not perfectly sewn but pretty good. It is a large flag compared to the typical flag + pole purchased at retail stores. I will see how it holds up but if it lasts one season, that is as good as most flags purchased for home usage. I am using the wood flag pole from the previous flag and it is flexing quite a bit when the wind hits the flag due to the larger surface of the flag < it would be best to use an aluminum pole and better yet to try to use a 6 foot staff rather than the usual 5 foot. All in all, I am very satisfied with the cost, quality, delivery and appearance of this flag.

I got this flag mostly a decoration. I'm really into vexiology (the study of flags) and the American flag really stands out to me. The double stitching is really nice and seems durable. The Nylon also seems durable. Brass grommets look like they'll stand up to any abuse an inside flag would see; I'm not to sure about them if the flag were to be whipping around in the wind, though. The colors are clear, correct, and haven't bled with one another. Star embroidery is good, only a few stray threads. My only major complaint is the bottom. It seems that the bottom (opposite of the union, where the stripes end) was folded up and stitched to make it more durable. While good for durability, the colors on the bottom are sort of uneven. While sad, it's not really all that bad. Overall, a good indoor flag that should last virtually forever if cared for. If your putting it outside, I wouldn't expect it to last more than 3 years. Pros: - Nice double stitching. - Good, clear colors. - Nice brass grommets. - Seems durable. - Made in the USA Cons: - Folded bottom slightly unsightly.

We live on a miltary post...so there a lot of flags flying, but I must say that our flag looks very good compared to a lot of them. It hangs very good...rain or shine....we live in Kansas and have had some pretty nasty weather- rain, wind, snow, lots of wind, etc....and it never gets wrapped up has never gotten off hook or any issues, we leave it up 24/7. Truely a made in America Flag!! I thought it was funny when I was reading reviews on flags before I bought this one that how many flags were not made in the USA....this is made in the USA and you can proudly fly iy. Great Flag and price.....would recommend!!! We have it a "wooden" looking pool and its look very good and classy. Being a proud Army wife I love the way it looks!!
