Is the bottom perfectly flat. I have a cooktop that requires that the pan bottom make perfect contact with it.

I would say :yes, to flat' on the bottom ! ~ I suggest the grille pans too,( make a little set of three !

Does it fit one egg and a couple of bacon

It's too short for cooking bacon unless you cut the bacon in half (or thirds). It's also too small to cook the bacon beside the egg. If I were making a breakfast for one, I'd cook the bacon first and then cook an egg or two in the bacon drippings. The diameter of the pan is about 6 inches, about the size of a medium-sized pancake.
