These clocks are a grreat value for the price. Realize, that depending on your needs you might need to work on them a little bit. For instance - The stands that they arrive with are very lightweight, and not heavy enough to be used outdoors without being fortified with something heavy. There's nothing structurally wrong with them, they are just light. It could be just fine in many applications. For me, I ended up making an attachment for mine so that I could use them with a bigger-thicker speaker stand, that was less apt to get knocked over in the wind. You'll also need to come up with a 12 volt battery to use with them unless you intend to have them plugged into power all the time. Now the good part: They are SUPER bright. Operating the remote is fairly intuitive. BTW - * I had a remote come in that didn't work, and they replaced it for me. They have a clean, nice look to them and the construction is pretty decent. If they fall on the end pretty hard the plastic end cap will crack, but so would about anything else you would buy in this range. Anyone complaining about these doens't realize what a pro-grade clock usually costs. You can hardly touch an Electronumerics for under $1000. Are they perfect? No. But these are under $200, and for the most part they operate as well as something much more expensive.

The reviews for this suggested that it would be very chancy to expect it to work for long, and perhaps even out of the box. Perhaps that made for additional caution, and it has worked well for entire summer of pool masters team swimming -- taken out and in each day. Process depending only a remote with no controls on the device is crazy, and remote instructions and actual face are not logical, useful. Use as just a countdown or count up timer is great. No battery requires long extension cord with risk of pulling down the entire device, plus chock especially on pool deck. Still, works well within its limitations.

Seems to work pretty well. But, I gave it 3 stars because the remote sent is all in Chinese instead of English, as the product photo showed. Good product - but with a remote in a foreign language, I can't just give it to someone and ask them to run it for me.

I was shocked when I received this product on how great it was! The display is visible, the actual casing very sturdy. I had to get an external battery with it and an inverter to get power for the clock but it worked great! If you are a meet director save your money (prob over $500 tbh) and buy this and try it out. Tweak with it and you'll find settings that are useful. I just needed the actual time (clock) and stopwatch (to count up)

We have used at 3 track meets and is bright and works perfectly. Stand is lightweight and clock will blow over in a light breeze, so we set up next to a chair and tape it to the chair.

I opened the box and supplied power to the display, which lit up just fine. I put brand new batteries in the remote and it would not do anything. I replaced batteries and confirmed proper installation. Nothing. I did the troubleshooting in the book. Nothing. I returned the product. Our equine organization cannot have an event countdown timer that will not work. Very disappointed but honestly not surprised. Our organization has opted to spend substantial more money for a timer made for equine events.
