I've have used Elements hot chocolates for a couple of years now and love them. I didn't realize that there were chocolate bars available until recently. I love this! I love that the chocolate bars are healthier than usual candies. One the selling points for me has been, and still is, that their cacao tests zero for lead, mercury, arsenic, and only trace for cadmium. Heavy metals in chocolates, which come from where the beans are grown and how they are processed, have become a big issue. I love that this company works directly with small farms in Ecuador to be able to receive amazing cacao to use for these chocolates. All of the ingredients are ethically sourced. As they say, "chocolate that's actually good for you". This has Moringa which is a nutrient rich food, and low glycemic coconut sugar. And if you're dairy free you'll like that there is no dairy. I think the Maple Toffee Flavor is delicious. The chocolate is smooth, the toffee crunch is just right. Note that this is definitely a dark chocolate flavor but it's well balanced. There is a slight fruitiness to the flavor, I don't know if that is the Moringa or the chocolate - in my experience chocolate from Ecuador often has a natural lovely fruitiness to the flavor profile. You do pay a premium price for these chocolate bars since the quality is something special. The Amazon price is the same as on Elements website. The presentation on this set of 2 bars is amazing. The pouch is beautifully decorated and when opened there are the two lovely bars. Even though these are well packaged both of my bars had cracked in transit though. One thing I've noticed when eating these chocolate bars is that I can just enjoy them; there is no sugar crash, no increase of sugar cravings (as I often experience with most other chocolates). This chocolate is very satisfying to me.

I can tell from the previous reviews that the distributor must’ve been having some issues with their stock being out of date. But I can say confidently that that is now resolved. The chocolate that I received was fresh, within date, smooth and delicious. I love the crunch of the toffee bits. It has an excellent flavor. I worked as a Chocolatier for 10 years so I have opinions on chocolate. That being said, this isn’t the highest quality I’ve ever had, but it is delicious, robust and has a good mouth feel. There is a slight lingering aftertaste that I suspect is the moorings, that is included in the chocolate. But it is not a problem for me. I also use a good amount of cacao in my baking, so I am used to it, and that has a slightly more bitter taste than cocoa. The bar itself is a thinner than you might expect what you should be able to tell from the bar weight 1.8 ounces that it is a slightly more slim bar. Grocery store chocolate bars tend to be more like 3 ounces. As to the value for money. I think this might be a little bit on the expensive side. It is a quality chocolate and they obviously care about their ingredients so it depends on how you feel about the added herbal element. It was not enough for me to remove a star.

I was very excited to receive this because I was buying one for myself and one as an Xmas gift for a family member. I love maple and dark chocolate, so this has been in my cart for months while I was waiting for a reason to buy it. I hoped that maybe because expiration dates can be unreliable that it would still be edible. It is not. Both are broken, have bloomed and taste like cardboard. I want to reorder because I genuinely want to try the chocolate and want to get some for someone else but am worried I will just receive more expired chocolate. Thoroughly disappointed.

This review is for the Elements Truffles Maple Toffee Flavoured Dark Chocolate Bar: I'm going to talk about this chocolate bar but keep in mind, I'm not a dark chocolate fan generally. These do not feel like your stereotypical dark chocolate (or maybe I've just been eating bad dark chocolate so far), it's a very smooth dark chocolate, and it's not too sweet, it doesn't have any artificial taste to it, nor does it have a sweetener after taste as a lot of "sugar free" chocolates tend to have. These aren't sugar free, but they're only 3g of sugar per serving (4 servings per bar), so 12g of added sugar for the entire bar, which is not all bad for a non sugar free bar honestly! My gripe with these is the box the two bars came in can fit at least 4 bars, which feels very wasteful. Also $14 for two bars is steep, but it is pretty tasty.

Elements Truffles Maple Toffee Flavoured Dark Chocolate Bar- I seem to be in the minority here, but I really like these chocolate bars. They remind me of Sixlets candies. They're not high-cocao-content-I-eat-dark-chocolate-bars, but the ingredients are great (I don't tolerate cane sugar). The texture is slightly gritty, but in a pleasant way. I'm not really sure how to phrase it- sort of melt in your mouth with crunchy bits. They don't taste like the usual alternative sugar bars which, frankly, are a bit pretentious. I like dark chocolate and I like serious dark chocolate, but sometimes I want something a bit lighter. These fit the bill. I find them very sweet, but I don't eat a lot of sugar- they're perfect for after a meal when you just want a small bit of sweetness. At $7 per bar they're a bit pricey, but about on par for the other bars I buy.

The chocolate is very high quality and is quite lovely however there is almost no toffee to speak of. There might be three small pieces throughout the entire bar. If you are considering it for the toffee, think again. Also, not the best value. I was expecting big things but was very underwhelmed.

This tasted really delicious! Luckily my chocolate didn't melt at all even though the temps have been very high here where I live lately. Funnily, the 2pc chocolate bar was packed in a big set that looks like it's supposed to come in a pack of four or five bars. It looks funny and if you were to gift only the 2 pc, it would look like you ate the other set and gave them leftovers. The box set is lovely though - made of very thick hard cardboard with artfully floral patterns and a description of the brand. The bar of chocolate itself is as an average sized with specs of toffee and maple powder flavors on the back side of the bar. Serving size is 1/4 of the bar which contains 4.2g of carbs and a total of 6.6g of sugar. It's made with coconut sugar which tastes mild, smooth and a bit earthy overall. This is definitely a delicious treat and I can not eat just one small bite. Must resist!
