Excellent shaver. I love that the blade holder helps you to precisely position the blade, thanks to the two pins that are not found in my other ones. I actually bought a Parker but returned it immediately due to the crack I found near the hinge. This one however doesn’t have such problem. I suspect the resin coating helps to reduce the chance of the wooden handle developing a crack. I did not like the supplied blades at all. I recommend using this with Derby Premium blades.

I've used a straight razor for many years and I have to say, this is a big improvement. I'm not knocking my straight razor, it's my lack of ability at honing a really sharp edge time after time. The fault is mine, not my razor. I searched through several of these barber replaceable razors and I finally chose the "urwunder". It costs more than the others, but I really like that blade being held by 4 pins = there is no way the blade can fall out. The other razors count on 2 pins to align the blade and the grip of the locking latch to hold the blade. Since I have used a straight razor for years, it was a very easy adjustment to use the "urwunder". It is lighter than a straight razor, no "hunk of steel" blade. The single edge is extremely SHARP!! Like all razors, you are not just shaving hair, you are also exfoliating some skin. That is extremely true of this razor - it's a very, very close shave = make sure to have some skin lotion available after your shave. You'll need to moisturize because the newly exposed skin will be a little sensitive.

I’m a full time barber and I can say that this is a great razor after using it for a week or so. I’m really really impressed with the locking system it has to hold single blades in place, it’s balanced pretty good as well! The only things I find a bit underwhelming is how thick the handle is but it is treated wood so it holds up really well in the sanitation fluid we are required to use, used blades are difficult to get out because the blades are a tight fit in between the prongs, I haven’t had it long enough to see how the black finish holds up so who knows, and also the razor as a whole is a little stiff but that might be a good thing because it seems well built. Overall as a professional I’d say it’s definitely worth the price and I can see it lasting a long time because of the quality. Glad I got this over cheaper alternatives

Came with double sided razors that don’t fit the product. Had to get new razors separately, which was irksome. Good look and feel, otherwise.

This is the best blade handle i have ever used. Perfectly balanced, with ideal proportions. The ergonomics are excellent! It almost seems like the blade handle becomes an extension of your fingers, so handling the blade requires very little thought and effort. The amount of blade exposure and weight of the handle work perfectly whether you are shaving the right side or the left side of your face. Whoever designed the shank that holds the blade understands that the shorter length works better as your fingers find the perfect fulcrum which is not too far from the cutting edge, so one can apply just enough pressure to avoid nicks and cuts. Truly impressive.

i am growing a full beard for the first time in 49 years. i wanted a straight razor to clean up my cheek lines and neck line. I bought this and totally love it. at first, i couldn't figure out the blades. i thought they wouldn't fit, but you have to snap them in half.. so each blade in package is actually 2 after you snap in half.. then it fit perfect. my first attempt at shaving wasn't great, but then i watched youtube and learned to keep razor at 30 degree angle and go with the hair grain.. after that i fell in love with the razor. the wood is beautiful, and its simply a cool piece. the leather sheath is top notch too. a lot of choices for straight razors... you will be very pleased with this one!

Great quality design. It feels sturdy and feels good in the hands. I just started learning how to use a straight edge razor so I’m still pretty green but as far as razors, this feels nice.
