NEWGO Shoulder Ice Pack, Compression for Both Shoulders, FSA Eligible, M

I developed bursitis in my shoulder and it was large and painful, enough that it made working on a computer difficult. It was like there was a hot red golf ball sitting on my shoulder that ached and hurt to move and touch. I did some research and saw that cool compression was good for it so I purchased this. I stuck the cool pack in the freezer for about 4 hours; it came with a food safe bag to keep it clean and separate from food in the freezer, which was nice. It was cold but still fully flexible, and went into the sleeve easily. It took only a little adjustment to get the arm, strap, and placement just right, but once I did it was easy to get on and off. It was quite cool and kept its coolness for at least 20 minutes. When I took it off there was immediate and conspicuous relief! My bursitis was nearly flat, neither hot nor red, and no longer painful. I will be able to work comfortably and I feel like my shoulder will get a chance to actually heal.

I put it on for the first time yesterday, which was 12 days post Arthroscopic Rotator Cuff surgery and my 3 holes in shoulder still have stitches but did not bother me. This product is actually amazing and for me personally i could have someone help me put it on while i was still wearing my sling. Not only is it a MILLION times easier on yourself if your up and about it will not move and in my case it actually supports and keeps the shoulder tight and where it’s supposed to be with my sling. If your thinking about getting one because your active and tired of holding it or falling off, or so you can keep up on Doctors orders effortlessly give it try. Just wait at least until your skin where stitches are is dry and only healing from inside so you don’t cause yourself discomfort. Very good quality made and affordable asset to my Arthroscopic Rotator cuff surgery recovery process. It’s nice and thin and you can adjust how much compression is applied with velcro strap's and zero skin irritation.

Very easy to put on, but doesn’t hold the cold long enough. Material is soft and good quality. Very portable, folds up nice in the bag to store. My reverse shoulder surgery went well 12/15/25, but the reattached bicep muscle will not stretch so 2nd surgery coming up. The shoulder covering goes down far enough to provide relief, unlike the type that are specifically for regular rotator cuff surgery relief.

My shoulder has consistently been hurting (supposedly a labrum problem) - I've been doing stretches, but when the acute pain kicks in, I pop on this wrap and it's great relief and way easier than trying to balance ice packs on my shoulder while lying down. The good: Seems to be good quality construction, pretty easy to put the ice pack in the sleeve, and once it's on, it's easy to move around while the shoulder is getting iced. It's also nice that they include a plastic bag to separate the ice pack from freezer food smells. The not as good: As others mentioned, it takes little practice to put it on quickly. Put the velcro together first, because whether you put your arm through the sleeve first, or put the strap around your body first, you wont be able to fasten the velcro with your opposite hand only. Also, this only has relatively small coverage for the outer shoulder area (centered around the point of the shoulder), so if you're looking for coverage around the high shoulder/neck area, this may not work very well there. Suggestions to the manufacturer (if they read these): The velcro attach for the sleeve is ok, but the plastic part of the velcro is definitely scratchy and uncomfortable sometimes. Given that and the difficulty putting the velcro on with one hand, they should make it a pull through strap with the velcro on the outside (similar to a blood pressure monitor cuff). Other thing - the plastic bag for the ice pack for some reason is too small to seal, but enough to cover the pack from touching other things.

I ordered this for a bad shoulder I needed to Ice, it is quite big and I cannot really adjust the straps. It is an ice pack that works though

Alright, the good the bad and etc... first and foremost, I have only used this once so far and I like it. It has a sleek design, but more important, it gets cold to a painfully sore shoulder. I wore it incorrectly for the first 30 minutes or so, because I had it ride high on my shoulder, towards my neck. I thought th straps were to short or tight, but apparently it is designed to snug your biceps, and not really cover your shoulders and neck region. Instructions probably showed this, but I didn't really read those.... At all. It is cold, and does good work on the shoulder even though it only covers the bicep and rotor. I would by no account say it's 8 hours worth of could, but I live in Houston, so maybe it would last longer in other locales. I will however so that It has been helpful and reduced my pain a good margin. I will continue to use it and update you all on the quality if I think about it; but yeah, anything that drops the pain in my shoulder is a win in my books!

The quality of this brace exceeds my expectations. Light weight and way to use. The coverage is perfect and stays in place without having to adjust while using it. Best value for your money. Highly recommend . I’m a weight lifter and this is perfect for those aches and pains after a good workout

I am editing my original review an dkeeping that original review intact below. This ended up being a good purchase even though it didn't do exactly what I wanted it to do. The goal was to keep ice on a torn rotator cuff while keeping my other hand free. This device worked poorly for that. However, it ended up being an indispensable tool for me. The brace itself was actually quite useful for helping to keep that joint immobile so it could heal. I ended up using this brace, a sling, and a tether. Currently, with what I hope was the worst out of the way, I'm still wearing this brace. The ice pack is also a good ice pack, and it will have a lot of uses over the years. It just doesn't work well with the sleeve. If you're looking for an ice pack and a sleeve, just not together, then this is the product for you! Original Review: The good news is, the gel pack that came with this shoulder strap seems to be very high quality. I've been using it 2-3 times a day for about a week now. The bad news is, the actual shoulder strap is pretty much worthless. I was able to figure out how to put it on fairly easily, and there are instructions in the package that were helpful for that. The problem is, no matter how I adjust it. I'm just not able to get any of the "cold" to make any sort of contact or have any sort of effect on my skin or the muscle beneath without physically holding it in place with my other hand. That's precisely the reason why I got a shoulder strap in the first place! It took me about five minutes to figure out how to fashion a bed sheet to do this task instead.

Now that I've got your attention I'll share my review ;). Ok it's a one piece wrap of sturdy foamy stretchy stuff. Yes I like to keep it scientific with the terminology. It also has a strap you attach like a handbag or manbag. It does not provide instructions for this but if you need that you really shouldn't be trusted opening boxes, so.. The good: Arrived fast. Packaged very well in plastic in perfectly sized box. Nice enough to gift even. Pleasant little note inside to thank you. Good quality material. Stretchy and resilent. Adjustable velcro closing for tiny to large bodies. Large enough brace for my 6 ft 2 bohemouth son but also fits me. Ice pack is big enough to cover entire shoulder and has a pouch to hold it in place. It also has a bag to keep it from getting food odors in the freezer. Both the arm hole and the body belt are adjustable with velcro that isn't itchy or rough. Does not stick to clothing either. The bad: It requires you know how to put a strap through a plastic strap thingy and how to operate velcro. The ice bag is heavy because it's big. I like this but you can decide for yourself if it's bad. If you have xx huge arms it may not fit. I didn't get it months ago. And lastly, position it properly for relief. This is essential. Ladies, you think it should go under the breast because why would anyone want a strap on the breast. But no. This was designed, like 90% of the unisex products on the market, for men. You will need it over the breast to brace the shoulder properly. Otherwise it sits too low.. You need to wear loose clothing over it. Summary: I think it's a good product for the price.

While the order is nicely packed and a nice note from the seller is included, the product it self is heavy specially for someone with a shoulder surgery and not practical as it keeps slipping as well given its weight
