Received this filter and sounds like a rattle inside. Is this normal or is it broken?

It's normal. If anything, it's a good thing. The rattle is just the carbon granules inside the housing. If you don't hear a rattle, or see any cracks ir dings, it's broken. This is a sediment and carbon filter . The carbon is little granules. Hope this helps!!!

You state on your label that these are cleanable and reusable. Can you please elaborate on proper cleaning and reuse?

Not really. I find them to be a one-and-done item

What's maximum temperature of this filter? Is it safe to use after water heater heated @125°F?

As with any product, hard to know full range of use or full design intent, without contacting the manufacturer. I will say, due to the make up of the filter, plastics, carbon--etc., even if the maker said it was safe, I would not use it on the hot inline side, where temps can reach 120 deg.. There are hot water inline filters, they are typically different than these filters. TDC

Effective Whole House Water Filter

We have a mountain cabin with an internal UV water treatment system. Connected to it is a water filter. Because the water source is untreated creek water that includes some sediment, it is important for the water filter to filter out as much of the sediment as possible. This filter does a very effective job of doing so. So far we are very pleased.

I've worked in a plumbing field for over 30 years put in many assists for well water these filters are great they filter the water well that remove some smell settlement easy to install very well priced I have well water at my house not too much iron some smell not a very good taste after installing these filters water tastes very well also smell a lot better last about every 6 months I have to change well worth it
