These Carex Bed Buddy heat pads hold heat very well and are light enough to move around easily. They are great for easing stiffness and pain, and the length is perfect to wrap around your neck.Our family has bought several of these heated bed buddies over the past two decades, and they play an integral part in our daily routine. In the morning, we pop them in the microwave as we prepare coffee and then wrap them around our necks to ease morning stiffness. They are flexible and mold themselves to our neck shapes. In the evenings, we do the same to help wind down and reduce soreness.During the winter months, we place a heated buddy at the foot of the bed for a source of heat throughout the night. The gentle, soothing warmth helps us fall asleep.We have bought other types of bed buddies in the past. For example, the ones with a strong floral scent (filled with lavender and flax) smell great, but they cannot compare to having the deep warmth of these bed buddies, which hold their heat for at least 15-20 minutes.The buddy heat pad has a light scent at first, but it fades over time. The only thing to watch out for is to make sure you do not overheat them. If you place them in the microwave for too long, they can start to emit a slight burning smell. To avoid this, we heat them in intervals. We do an initial 45-second round, followed by another 35-second round, which makes the bed buddy’s warmth perfect for our bare necks. Our only minor wish is that the buddy came with a removable, washable cover.We like them so much, we give them as gifts for friends and family who have been injured or who have chronic conditions. Overall, these bed buddies offer a reliable, comforting, and portable source of heat. They are durable, long-lasting, and a great use of money.

Love Love this thing. It is great for neck, shoulder, wrists. ankles, where ever you have pains...it help with the Heat. Last for up to about 30mins with one heat up, I use 40sec, cant burn ya.Its soft, comfortable, light weight, gets the job done.

I have owned the original bed buddy for about 18+ years. It finally developed a few holes and of course the packing material began leaking out. I found this new design and I hesitated to buy it based on the poor ratings by some of the reviewers. Finally I purchased it and I am glad I did.This newer design is different but still good. I am a big man and I use the bed buddy on my neck, shoulders and biceps. This new one still fits around my neck. It does have two channels filled with the same type of filler as the original bed buddy and it works just as well. In our medium strength microwave we have to heat this new one at 2 minutes and 30 seconds to 3 minutes which is identical to the original one we had. The new one stays warm for almost as long as the original and the only difference is that perhaps the original had more filler in it.The original came with a cotton tube that the bed buddy fits into to help keep it cleaner. Fortunately when I threw away the old bed buddy last week I saved the tube and it fits the new bed buddy perfectly. I do wish the new one came with the tube as it keeps the bed buddy cleaner and it also helps to protect you from possible burns if the bed buddy is to hot or has hot spots from your microwave.If the original bed buddy was a 5 star product, and in my opinion it was, then this one is at least a 4 star. It works the same, heats as well and smells like fresh baked bread just like to original. It also fits my big neck to help relieve sore muscles after working out with weights. I can't tell the difference in the length between the original and this one but the new one is slightly shorter, a couple of inches at most. This new one is still flexible and wraps easily around your body. The new dual tube design helps keep the filling material more evenly distributed along the length of the entire bed buddy which is a benefit. The older design tended to get spots where there was no filler in certain areas, like the middle, based upon how it wrapped around my neck. The only real negative for me is the lack of the original bed buddy tube for the outside.I like this product and I gave it a 4 star. I am happy that I purchased it and I will buy another one. It is the best product I have found for my stiff arthritic neck and I recommend it for that problem. It is ideal for stiff muscles or just warming up and loosening up your body.Just a couple of warnings. I see that people want to wash the bed buddy. Don't do it. Take a large tube sock and put the bed buddy in it and heat it that way. It stays cleaner, as the bed buddy doesn't touch your skin, and you can remove the sock and wash the sock to get it clean and put it back onto the bed buddy.I see where people want to wet the bed buddy and heat it for moist heat. ABSOLUTELY NOT! It takes 9 times the energy to make steam as it does to boil water. You risk severe burns if you wet the bed buddy and then heat it. In addition you will damage the product by damaging the filler material.I liked this product so much that I have now purchased 2 more. I gave one to my 90 year old mother in law and 87 year old father in law and I gave one to my son for his back!Every time I go over to see my in laws, one of them is using the bed buddy. They love it!

After reading some of the recent reviews of this product, I had to put up my own review. The original Bed Buddy was awesome, but they sold to Carex brand. It's still a good product. I heat mine at 1 minute (in a 1000-watt microwave) which I think is still over what you're supposed to heat them at, but it hasn't caught fire. When it has cooled down to barely warm, I will reheat at 1 minute again. Read the directions, don't heat and reheat too close together. I have never had one burn up or catch fire in the microwave. I also have an electric neck warmer that has settings 1-9 and how many hours you want it to be on by another company. I use it at the pc. With these two, I'm covered. The neck warmer is not meant to be HOT. Its purpose is to warm your muscles slightly. It relieves stiffness, and pain. It is comfortable to wear all day, even as it cools; the weight is actually comforting. The wrap does have handles which don't seem needed. The wrap, even without burning up, will eventually wear out and should be replaced if it smells like it has been cooking. It does not have beads. Make sure the microwave turn table is clean before heating. The stitching keeps the filling in place and is very helpful. The price has increased since Bed Buddy sold it years ago: originally it was $9.95, now the list price appears to have gone up to $12.95. I have tried other neck wraps but always come back to this one. Don't expect it to last forever and try not to burn it up :)

I’ve been really happy with this Carex Bed Buddy heat wrap. I like heating it up in the microwave after a long day of work, whether that’s sitting at a computer or doing something more physical. It’s become part of my nighttime routine because it really helps relieve tension and stress in my neck and shoulders.It works especially well after upper body day at the gym. When my neck feels tight or sore, I heat it and let it rest around my shoulders. It’s also comfortable enough to wear while watching a movie, which makes it a nice, relaxing addition to the evening.I’ve also used it on other areas. It works well on my lower back, and sometimes if my knee is sore, I’ll place it there for moist heat. It can also be used during your period to provide comforting heat for cramps. I like that it’s versatile and not limited to just the neck.I was a little concerned at first after reading some reviews mentioning possible burn issues. Because of that, I’ve been careful to follow the recommended microwave heating time and not overheat it. In my experience, it doesn’t need to be extremely hot to be effective. I haven’t noticed any strange burning smell, and I haven’t had any issues so far.I previously owned a Bed Buddy and used it until it eventually wore out, so I’m already familiar with the product. This one feels about the same in quality as my last one. I haven't tried the cooling option yet, as I prefer heat, but I could see it coming in handy for sore knees after a run or weight session.

This is a good product. I've been using it heated in the microwave on my left shoulder, it keeps the temperature for a good time, and it works as intended.

After losing my original Bed Buddy in a house fire several years ago, I found this Bed Buddy which looked similar and claimed to be the original. It's not.I have now had the Carex Bed Buddy for a few years. It's similar to the original Bed Buddy, but definitely not the same. (It's annoying when packaging says "The Original Bed Buddy" when it clearly is not the original.)SIMILARITIES: Fabric, handles, heat time in the microwaveDIFFERENCES: "Premium" Stitching (the original BBs were like a closed tube with the filling falling everywhere inside the tube making it very easy to shake around and mold over body areas). The current version has stitching which limits the movement of the filling and keeps it flatter. As a result of the changed shape, when I tried to put the current BB in a former BB cover, it did not fit. I wound up making my own fleece tube to put the BB through when using. (Because the BB is white, without a cover, it WILL turn yellow or discolor over time from body oils (depending on use, such as on the face or forehead) which is why I prefer a washable cover.Another difference, which is a DISLIKE is the scent. While I ordered the unscented BB, when I took it out of the package originally, it stunk. Since my original BB always smelled like rice or breadlike, I remember worrying that I would not be able to tolerate the new BB anywhere near my head. (The odor went away over time, but I was definitely worried. I still always check it before using.)HEATING: There were mixed reviews with heating. When I heat it, I do 1 minute on high. Then I take the BB out of the microwave and shake and mold to redistribute the filling and spread the warmth. Then I return it to the microwave and repeat in 30 second increments. Usually, overall heating is 1.5-2 minutes.Now that there is no stinky odor, I am able to use the BB regularly for me or my teen.Overall, I do like the BB, but the true original version was better. I would buy again if needed, unless I discover something similar, but better.

Nifty heating wrap, which is easy to use everywhere on your body. Simply heat the wrap in the microwave for a few minutes and put it where it hurts.. I love the handles to maneuver it to exactly where you desire. You will feel relief immediately.

We've used several similar products but this is the best. It holds the heat and is a good length. We've used it for a year now and just purchased a second one today so we dont have to share it. Lol
