It’s a tool you’ll eventually need if you do your own work. It’s a little precarious though. It’ll slip off if you don’t attach it just right and pull it straight back. I had to hammer the pin straight to get it to reach the spring hole.

This tool works amazing for what they intended it for. Definetly buy one if you need one.

This tool advertises that it fits and can lift the tensioner spring of an 06 mini cooper s. News flash: it doesn't. It slips, doesn't seat properly on the bolt it claims to use as leverage. The two small nibs will only fit if you unseat the bolt a bit. Then guess what! It slips off. Seat the bolt, it slips at the tensioner fittings.....seat the tensioner fittings, it slips off the bolt. It's heavy duty, sure. But it's a heavy duty piece of crap. Wasted money happens sometimes.....but Wasted time pisses me off. The tool's only purpose is to allow you to raise the tensioner, put a pin in the hole of the spring (the pin is too short btw), and allow you to replace a serpentine belt and it fails at it. That's a no go at this station.

Tool works perfectly. Makes changing the belt on my 2003 mini Cooper S a breeze.
