Not bad at all
I’ve prepared this Scandinavian blend so far using my two main brew methods: moka pot and French press. It’s a tasty, full-bodied dark roast with smokey notes, though not nearly as smokey as a French roast. The beans are matte, not oily. I’ve brewed through half the bag already, and I’m still getting to know this blend. So far, I quite like it.Being a darker roast, I’ve been careful to grind even coarser than I would for lighter roasts in my French press, using a Timemore C2 hand grinder. Set on 26 clicks. Also, I let my electric kettle cool for a minute or two after boiling before I add the water to the grounds in the carafe. Boiling water is no bueno for darker roasts in a French press.I grind the beans a bit more coarsely for the moka pot as well.So far so good with this Scandinavian blend in both of my preferred brew methods. I’m enjoying it enough that I’ve also purchased the SF Bay French Roast and look forward to trying it.This brand sells a high value product. Decent quality for a good price. The expiration dates on both bags I’ve received are well into the future. Is this freshly roasted, small batch coffee? Absolutely not. I’m okay with this for the amount, price, and convenience. My goal here is to save money while getting a good enough coffee. This brand fits the bill.

Smooth and balanced
I've been exploring different coffee blends lately and decided to give the Moka Java a try after hearing good things about this classic blend. I usually stick to more traditional roasts but wanted something a bit different, and this did not disappoint! The medium roast hits the sweet spot for me—not too light, not too dark. The flavor profile is smooth and balanced, with a delightful mix of chocolatey notes and a hint of fruitiness, which gives it a rich and slightly exotic taste. The beans are fresh and aromatic, filling the kitchen with an inviting scent when grinding.Overall, I'm really happy with this choice. It's a great, versatile coffee that works well for my morning cup or even a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. If you're looking to try something a bit different from your usual blend, this Moka Java is a solid option!

A bit darker than medium roast, but great for the price
I worked roasting coffee for 6 years, so I have high standards without being a snob. This is review is for the Hawaiian blend. It’s labeled as medium roast, but is more on the dark side; I would consider it dark roast, but maybe compared to their darker roasts this is medium. Also I travel to Hawaii often, and would not consider this as good as actual Hawaiian beans. The beans had a bit of an oily sheen to them, which proves they’re fairly fresh (older, poorly stored beans will be dry in appearance). Beans also had a very nice aroma. Flavor is more like a dark roast, closer to a typical French roast with a deeper bite on the finish, than the smooth nuttiness of a more typical medium roast. I do personally prefer a lighter/medium roast, so I’m probably a bit more critical about this point.I removed one star for the roast being darker than what I would consider medium. Overall a decent bean, and nice cup of coffee. The most impressive part is the value; it is an awesome bag of coffee for the price. I would absolutely recommend to others, and will be purchasing from them again.

This tastes like the Mocha Java I love but have a hard time finding!
It's hard to find a Mocha Java coffee that actually has good, rich flavor. This one does!

Taste and freshness of roast
It is a blend of hawian and reg beans it tast like burnt coffee . No nutty undertone I have bought cheap beans that tasted better . The package is suppose to be vacume it was not so it sat on a shelf for awhile exposed to air . The date says it all . I have bought other san Francisco Bay coffee and expire dates are always a year out the bridge mix is very good .save your money don't buy the Hawian blend

My favorite roast from this brand
This is an excellent dark roast. I have not found a better value for whole beans with any other brand. It is a huge bag so it takes about 2 weeks of brewing a full pot every morning to finish it. The tape seal wears out in a week so I keep it in a second bag too, to keep the beans fresh. And those beans are wonderful! When you first open the bag, they are still a bit oily! So good!

It's definitely dark roast
Beans are oily dark and crusty. It seems well past 2nd crack of roast. It has fair amount of gas, meaning it arrived within a month after the roast. It tastes good value coffee, rather than specialty.
