TREATLIFE 3 Way Smart Switch 4 Pack, 2.4GHz WiFi Smart Light Switch 3 Way, Works with Alexa, Google Home and SmartThings, Remote Control, FCC, Schedule, Neutral Wire Required

I just installed the 3-Way Smart Switch in my hallway, which has multiple switches controlling the lights. No issues with installation at all. I now have most of the house on a combination of regular switches, dimmer switches and 3-way switches, all from TreatLife. They're straightforward to install and set up in their app. Once that's done, I pop over to the Alexa app and add them as new devices. I can now control nearly every light in the house with these switches and they work great. The switches are good quality and I haven't had any problems with them. I don't know about other switch brands, but TreatLife products have worked great for me. Here are some tips I've learned: - They're bigger than regular switches, so make sure you push all the wires to the back of the box - Go slow. Don't pull all of the wires off of your old switch before installing the TreatLife switch. Transfer one wire at a time. Also, use their stickers before you remove the old switch so you'll know what each wire is - Get yourself a simple voltage tester. I bought a Klein Tools Voltage testers from Home Depot. Turn it on and the base is green. Put it up to a wire and if there's juice flowing to it, it the tester beeps and the tip turns red. The few dollars you spend on that tool is well work avoiding being shocked by a live wire! - If you use Alexa, make sure to add the new TreatLife switch as a Light, not a switch. That will allow you to control it with voice commands and create routines (great if you travel--you can have lights go on and off as if you're home) - Make sure you first recognize your new TreatLife switch in the TreatLife app. Then add it as a new device in the Alexa app. TreatLife has improved their app so some of the "I can't find the switch" errors have been cleared up. I installed five new switches and the TreatLife app found each one after a 45-second search - As with any home project, be safe. If you're uncomfortable working with electricity and wiring, ask a friend to help or hire a qualified electrician

Alright so I finally got a chance to try these switches out. They work perfectly once installed. Very clear instructions on install and integration with whatever smart controller you use. (If you've installed any sort of 3 way switch before, it's exactly the same except it REQUIRES a neutral wire for the smart functions) Additional Pros: They come with really nice screwless face plates but they're also standard size so theyll fit any regular plate you have too (See pics) They include white labels so if you wanna be a cool guy label your wires. Personally I love the button style switch vs a traditional switch, most of my switches have been coverted to treatlife and I havent had a single issue with any of them. Their product is surprisingly good quality. Comes with wirenuts and hardware too, which leads me into my one con: I absolutely hate it when switches come pre-wired and make you use wire nuts. They never fit easily with just one let alone if you have 2 of these in a double box, it's just a mess a wire and you literally have to smash them in sometimes. (I even put in the extra deep boxes, you just need so much space for !!5!!! wire nuts PER SWITCH. So TL;DR: Awesome 3-way smart switch but -2 stars on ease of install for forcing the use of wire nuts. Still 4.5/5, you wont beat this quality/price.

I’ve dealt with the GE brand smart switches for the last 7 years and I’m never going back, these are far superior to them in every way (Price, response, installation, reliability, and even look) I’ve had to replace my old GE switches about every 1.5 to 2years as they would constantly go out, yes they were under warranty (the first time) but what a pain in the a** to deal with that regular change. I bought one of these dimmer switches 5yrs ago on a whim because it was on sale and it’s never given me an issue once and the on/off response is instant not delayed like the GE. Even the fact that the 3-way switches can work with the old existing 3-way switch is a major plus, GE makes you buy a $20 add on huge switch just to have 3-way capability so $60 total to have a GE 3-way functional light compared to TreatLife $17. This brand is cheaper in price but not in value at all such a better quality product and a great affordable price. Will be switching everything to this brand from here on out. I use the smart life app and it’s great I highly recommend anything this company produces and look forward to what they put out next!

First the good: Once installed, these generally work just as you expect, interact well with the SmartLife app and Alexa, and all of the features (timers, schedules, remote on/off, etc.). Drawbacks: There are a couple of quirks that you need to be aware of: (i) if you happen to have a dimmer on your 3-way circuit, that is the one this switch needs to replace -- it is not that this switch includes a dimming function, but at least in our home having the dimmer on the other end of the 3-way circuit caused this switch to frequently short if the other switch with the dimmer was in one of the toggle positions -- take the dimmer out and this works great; (ii) this does not seem to have a positive "off" when toggled to open the circuit - there seems to be some very low level voltage leakage (not at all unusual with a 3-way switch), regardless of what position the other switch on the circuit is in -- so if you are using with just a single LED light, that very low level of leaking voltage can cause the LED light to glow dimly (because LED lights need so little energy to glow slightly) -- in our home, if there are 2 or more LED lights on the circuit, or an LED light + any other load, the voltage is not enough to cause any glowing. Also, beware that it is very challenging to fit two of these in the same box -- they are deeper than a simple toggle switch and the box needs to have room for the switches + all of the wires.

I recently installed 12 of these switches, and plan on installing more upstairs soon. These switches are 3-way switches and work as along as you follow the directions. The housing of the the switch is a bit bigger and you will need to ensure that you have pushed the wires all the way back in multi light switch locations. I installed 3 of these switches in a single location with no problem, with good planning you should be able to get 4 in if needed The software was easy to install and linked to Google Home with no issues. You could use their stand along app with no issues as well. The devices are located by bluetooth first and once you configure the network they are found on the network. At this point you can see them in the Google app. The overall aesthetics is very pleasing and my wife like the new look. When the switches are off, they have a small led to let you see them in the dark, and once the light is on the led goes out. We have had these installed for ~3 weeks with no issues. It is hard to find anything I dislike about the switches at this point.

Easy to install if you have a deep gang box. Software is relatively easy to use and works well with Alexa once everything is set up. However, there are 5 wires that have to be connected with wire-nuts for this device to work so there is some wire-tetris to make everything fit properly. Although you need only one of these switches in your 3-way circuit for automation to work, your lights may remain off or come on after a power outage since this switch forgets its switching state when it looses power. This becomes more of an issue if your home experiences a power outage while your on vacation. There are a couple workarounds I can think of for this scenario: 1) Replace all of your mechanical 3-way switches in the 3-way circuit with the same type of 3-way smart switch. When the power comes on they should all have the same default switch state which means your lights will be off. However, if you have more than 2 switches in your 3-way circuit, this becomes increasingly expensive. 2) Have only one switch controlling the circuit and remove the others. This may make sense if you use one switch most of the time and the other(s) rarely. The wiring may be more challenging but it may also be cheaper since single pole smart switches are normally less expensive than 3-way smart switches.

The initial installation was a bit of a challenge...first, the app developers thought that small font gray text on a white background would be readable. It is not. I bought both the single-pole and the 3-way switches. Once they were set up, they worked with both my Echos and Google Home, once accounts were linked. The voice control was very convenient. But with this product, once you finally get things set up, the device may go offline. When this happens, it is almost impossible to get the switch to go back online. There is no simple reset button...you can press the switch until the lights start flashing, but the app will not connect to it. It does not broadcast a network ID, so you cannot connect to it directly using its wifi hotspot capabilities. It basically functions as an expensive dumb switch at that point. The single-pole switches get set up in the SmartLife app, and the 3-way switches get set up in the TreatLife app. Technical support is useless...I was asked to find the box that the switches came in. To access any information or identifying features of the switch requires removing the switch. Having multiple smart switches on the same breaker means that when trying to troubleshoot one switch, you end up creating problems for all of the other switches on the same breaker. It is just incredibly frustrating. I've had a variety of smart lights, switches, and outlets. This is by far the most frustrating to deal with (well, other than my GE smart bulbs, which just stopped connecting to my network). Of all of the products that I have tried, I have to admit that Philips Hue lights are the easiest to set up and the most reliable to use. I have had zero problems with those lights after many years of use. Yes, they are more expensive. But at this point, I would rather pay a little more money to have smart devices that connect to my network easily and work flawlessly over the years. The bottom line: I definitely do not recommend these switches, even if they go on sale during the holidays. The user experience for the app is terrible if you have less than perfect vision. If you do manage to get them connected to your network, if they happen to go offline for any reason (power outage, shutting off power to the breaker to install a second switch, etc...) it will be next to impossible to get them back online. Spend a little more and go with Philips or Belkin (WeMo). Or just stick with a traditional rocker switch...it will give you less grief. To be fair, the single-pole switch that I set up first has continued to work (that setup involved using the Smart Life app, not the TreatLife app). But, once bit, twice shy, especially since I've also run into a similar problem with the Smart Life light bulbs (same company, different name? Out of the 4-pack that I purchased, I'm down to one bulb that is functional, so it's not a great return on my investment). Once they go offline, they don't want to connect with a network. UPDATE: after being contacted by the company, I am even more frustrated. Their advice is to just go through the set up process again. Of course, since the switch isn't able to pair with a device, this advice is not only useless, but it is irritating. I am being reminded that my switch doesn't work as intended. My option at this point is to either use it as a dumb switch (the ones you can buy for $1) or remove it (involving turning off power to ALL of my devices on that line, and risking screwing up others that are already set up and working) and replace it with a dumb switch. So, I can at least control my light with this dumb switch. I would give this product 0 stars if I could.

I unintentionally purchased the three-way version instead of standard "two way," but that's not a problem. They can be used as standard smart switches, simply by capping off one of the red traveler wires. To use them as three-way, you don't need two of these. A single smart switch and a dumb one can be used, and you can still control the light, saving about $12 per circuit. If you only use one, there's no way for your automation system to know the state of the light, though. I have Homeassistant installed at home and at my work, and I manage both installations. I absolutely hate having to rely upon cloud services, which can be dropped at any time by the manufacturer, invariably make the device very slow to respond, and can randomly turn on and off thanks to glitches in the cloud service. These can be re-flashed with ESPHome firmware using LibreTiny. In doing this, they become completely under your control and instantly linkable in Homeassistant without any need to use or even download the TreatLife app. It does require some YAML configuration, compiling the firmware and soldering a ($5) USB-TTL programmer and a separate 3.3v power source to the main control chip, but once figured out, it only takes about ten minutes to assume absolute dominance over the switch, and the USB-TTL and power supply are available for your next project. The red and white LEDs onboard can be controlled through the firmware, and/or can be controlled by Homeassistant. With the dual-switch 'complexity' of a three-way configuration, the switch can report the state of the onboard SPDT relay, but not whether the light is turned on - that has to be handled in HA by examining the states of both switches. If one and only one relay is on, the light is on. You'll have to experiment with selecting the precise chip used in your switch (BK7231T or BK7231N from what I've read), but thankfully, bad firmware won't brick the device. The boot/flash loader is set in ROM, so if you upload bad code, you can replace it until it works. With ESPHome, you can enable OTA updates, so you only have to open it up once. You'll want to include multi-touch code in the YAML so that you can force a reboot of the switch just in case it glitches, without having to turn off the whole circuit at the breaker. I've been using these re-flashed switches for three months, and they're rock solid. My next project is to jailbreak their dimmer switch.

I this is my 2nd order with this company. The switches are perfect and look great and the one main thing that I like is the app. Setting up the switches to the app is very easy. I highly recommend this product. I have one in my shed for over 3 years now and it works great and now these 3way switches that look and work great. Thank you for making a great product and great app.

I bought 4 3-way smart switches. Products were very easy to install. Initially I thought the switches need to be replaced in pairs and I did. After I read some reviews and someone mentioned about only replacing one of the switches. I tried to put one original back into the pair and it worked as expected. Now I have 4 3-way smarted switch controlled lights. I can't be happier. The switch looks very nice if it is a single switch with the original frame used. Unfortunately most of my 3-way switches are in double or triple gangs and I can not use the frames came with the product. The edge of the switch is slightly thicker than the original. The frame is not completed flushed with the wall. But overall, I am very satisfied with the product. They work very well with both amazon echo and google.

I have about 10-12 of these in my house now. Some 3 ways, some dimmers and some single pole. I’ve had two other brands (both more expensive) and these are my favorite. They work with smart life and Alexa. Sometimes one will go offline but it’s a quick reset and you’re back in business. There seems to be a glitch when I installed one in line with a 4 way switch where it never shows as on. Turn it on, it turns on, turn it on again, it turns off. Odd, but we manage fine.

These installed well and worked great, until the first one died, now a second one. don't waste your money.

These are great. Easy to install, look great and are affordable! As long as you have a neutral wire, these are a great replacement for any switch you want to control with voice command or by phone. The app is easy to navigate and connects easily to the switches. I’ve installed 6 in my home already, one of them a dimmer. These also work great. I highly recommend these if your updating your smart home. Definitely worth it!
