Exceptional comfort and clarity
I got these when mom accidentally threw out the kids paper glasses. The paper glasses are a novelty. They don't fit. They let ambient light in. The quality of the lenses is poor and easily made worse. The Polar Express 3D Glasses offer an exceptional Red/Blue 3-D viewing experience. They are very comfortable. They block Ambient light and the lenses are excellent quality.Criticisms that I have read on Amazon that are silly."They are dark." OF course the image is darker, your looking through color glasses. IT's simple turn up the brightness on your TV when you watch 3D movies. While you're at it, adjust the contrast. IT's super easy and will give you a much better viewing experience."They didn't work with all the movies I have." How is that this products fault? There are different, 3DFormats. Color formats include red/magenta, and red/cyan. Then newest technology is polarized and gives the most accurate colors in a 3D experience. Blaming the glasses for not working with a different format movie is hardly the fault of the glasses."Not as Shown." Mine were exactly as pictured."They are kids sized." They fit my oversized head comfortably.UGH!

Junk
I hoped for more with this product. My kids have the books that you need 3D glasses for. These are just as flimsy and cheap as the ones that came with the book. The rims are plastic and more sturdy than the paper ones. I would not buy this again. A waste of money.

Works with Nvidia 3d Vision Discover
Bought this triple pack in order to try out Nvidia's low cost 3d vision discover. Certainly took some amount of time to get used to the effect. Aside from the somewhat dorkiness of the glasses (look more like 1970's glass than modern shades), they work very well. I've been playing Resident Evil (4 & 5), Left 4 Dead (1 & 2), and few other games in 3d vision and it's an amazing and immersive effect. There are some downsides to the effect:1. Desaturation: Most colors are still noticeable, but there is clearly alot of lost of color, due to the filters.2. Ghosting: Because you can always still see some degree of the other eye's color in each eye, ghosting is very noticeable this way. These are both inherent to the effect, and not the glasses however. I can't compare them to other red/cyan glasses, since the last pair I used was in 1998 with red/blue (which really messed with the visible color spectrum). The work great once you get used to them though.I would not recommend these for long periods of time however. After about 2 hours, my brain is usually in melt down. Great glasses themselves though.

The movie is the problem, not the glasses.
These glasses are built nicely, and they do help a bit with the 3-d version of The Polar Express. However, the movie has been put out so poorly by Warner Brothers i don't think anything will make a difference. Their 3-d conversion is terrible, and even these glasses don't help much. Im rating the 3-d home version a zero (the IMAX is awesome however) and these glasses a 5. The glasses are really good quality, but the double vision and contrast issues are built into the dvd version.Warner Brothers needs to issue refunds or put out a better version because they just aren't doing their job with this one!

Bought for nVidia 3d vision
I purchased these mainly for gaming on my computer via nVidia, and since the standard 3D is too expensive i decided to set it up for anaglyph experience. To do this, you must be on Windows Vista or 7 as the drivers don't work with XP, and they should install with the graphics driver automatically upon downloading via website (3d drivers are updated regularly, don't use a CD). You go to a start menu icon under "nVidia" and click to setup 3d vision. Click to setup with the Discover glasses, as these will work flawlessly as a discover replacement and are much more durable! Once the 3d vision is setup, open a game and it should be working and have information for setting up the game for maximum effect. So far, i've player Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike 1.6, Counter-Strike: Source, Far Cry 2 (excellent performance) and am going to try Just Cause 2 and Mafia II as soon as possible. I've also tried Minecraft, as it has a built-in anaglyph setting already. So far, Minecraft and CS are the only games bothering me, as the crosshair is NOT in 3d, thus makes it almost impossible to shoot in CS and CSS, but all the others it is in 3d and easy to see. Also, it takes about a minute to adjust your eyes to the layers but once you have it down, you're all set.Durability:Very durable, much better than the cardboard glasses and costs less too!Value:You get 3 good quality glasses for under 5 bucks, what's not good about that?Size:Some people have been stating that these are "too small" but they fit perfectly over my italian head ;) I will make a review as soon as possible. They also fit perfectly over 3 of my other friends heads.

Cheap but work great.
Be sure to buy more of these than you need. The plastic frames are fragile and cheap. One pair broke when I went to put them on. They snapped at the top of the cyan eye side. Then when I tried to carefully take them off, they snapped completely in half. Fortunately the other 2 pairs are still in one piece. I do not recommend these to small children or adults that don't know their own strength. The Pros?First, they are inexpensive. (You get what you pay for however.)Second, they are very comfortable and work well with my 47" LCD HD TV. I'm not sure how well they'll work on a SD or any other screen. You can see more comfortably with these than the paper ones with tiny rectangle lenses. Even after watching the Avengers (over 2 hours long) my nose and ears felt fine.Just for the fragility of the glasses, I cannot recommend these unless you can be extremely careful (I thought I was being careful.) and know how to use superglue to put them back together (which will fix them). I would not buy these again and have found a better pair (different style) from a Hong Kong store on Amazon.
