Lippert 1346271 Flex Guard Single Kit with Hardware

This was the exact replacement for the wiring support on the two slides on my 2017 Keystone trailer. Both were completely broken and hanging down below the closed slide, if not physically held up while closing.It’s a very poor design but still in use on most new trailers. I’m happy the part is available and fairly simple to replace.If the sliding support rings for the cables are broken use black zip ties loosely around the strap instead. I shortened the strap a few inches to match the cable length without disconnecting the wiring.

Worked as it should

As others have said, my original one that came with my RV broke after one year of use. I bought this one to replace it. I used the little square things that hold the wires from the original one. All you need to do is slide out the long plastic strip from the squares and reuse them. Otherwise, I don't know how you would be able to put the wire through them without unhooking it somewhere. That would have been too much work. I think the manufacture needs to come up with another way to hang the slide wires. I can see this one lasting about another year or two. Now when I put out the slide, I look under it as my spouse is pushing the button to make sure it isn't getting snagged on something. Same thing when we retract the slide. I believe that is what happens to them. They get snagged on something underneath the slide and it breaks.

Install was easy and worked perfectly

Let's start with the good. The strap was a perfect fit and seemed like original equipment. No issues with the strap. It did the job.Now let's talk about the bad.... the real bad. The hardware is utter garbage. You can see what I mean by the pics. The weld they did was so hot it warped the bracket so bad it couldn't be used. The weld also penetrated over 2/3 of the aluminum rod. This would not have been bad if the weld was making up for the loss diameter, but it didn't. In my opinion this left the bracket as more of a liability then using the old one.Truthfully I would have returned this would I have had time, but I leave in 2 days on camping trip and needed this asap. I would not have paid more then $10 for this since I only used the strap.Beware that if you buy this, you're only going to be able to use the strap with confidence. Use the bracket at your own risk, just know you'll need to invest time in straightening everything out because their quality control is non-existent.

Had to replace this exact part. It's exactly as described, but cannot give it 5 stars because this is the exact same thing as what just failed.

I ordered the single channel not realizing there are different sizes. I got it in but have a feeling I'll need to upgrade to a double in the future. Pretty quick install on my 2014 Thor Tuscany XTE. About 15 minutes including gathering needed tools and clean up.

This strap is the same as the original that I needed to replace and seems to be a little too light/flimsy for the length and weight it needs to support for this large slide. I don't expect it to last too long; similar to the last one. The "slide on" cable supports are not what I would call a good solution as you need to either detach the cables from one end and slide them through the supports (which is pretty much impossible) or cut the supports to get the cables into them. I cut them on one side to get the cables in so we'll see how they stand up. Old fashioned cable ties would work just as well and is what I will use if these don't stand up. I would like to see Lippert come out with a more rigid solution for the large slides that need to support cables.

Same as the factory one that came on my slide. Hope to get another 5 years out of this one. (That's all I got out of the original one) should make them better.
