B417T 2.5 lbs ABC Dry Chemical Fire Extinguisher with Wall Bracket

Great units from Amerex, I’m an owner of a fire extinguisher company in Texas we use these all the time in apartments, heavy equipment, on trucks ect. Extremely easy for service anywhere any provider. They are durable and I can’t complain, for anyone looking for a fire extinguisher for there kitchen or vehicle these are perfect!!! Don’t cheap out on some garbage Home Depot brand like first alert or Kidd!! Amerex is going to be the best!

Before I get into a detailed review about this fire extinguisher. I have to note I ordered two of these and only received one. Amazon is currently contacting the seller for them to send me the other one. So hopefully they get this fixed soon. On the fire extinguisher I did receive. It is big super heavy, and will probably deal with any kind of fire I might have. Going to keep this one in the kitchen. This is definitely not a fire extinguisher for someone that cannot lift. Definitely a fire extinguisher that has plenty of hump behind it. Based on the size it is going to be cumbersome to use but will definitely take out whatever fire you pointed at. Because it has charged to spare. Overall the feel of it is pretty solid. Comes with a basic mounting stand. I only wish that it came with a big strap stand instead of just the basic hook. Overall great fire extinguisher and heavy duty. Hope I never have to use it. For about 1 eighty. Having double the capacity, then the 10 lb. To me is worth it. Considering the 10 lb is 1 hundred. Might as well get the larger capacity.

so, how can you do a proper review without using it? i gave it 5 stars for presentation, it's certainly professional, no plastic anywhere except for the cable tie that secures the pull ring. the wall hanger/holder is simple to secure your extinguisher somewhere and rock solid and lastly, it's certainly easy to use. even the most stupid among us can use a fire extinguisher, but if you can't, it comes with simple instructions and an amusing warning not to point the nozzle at your face and squeeze the handles. the one thing missing in this review is "does it work?" hopefully yes, and hopefully i'll never have to find out that $100 question. i'll keep my fingers crossed. in someones review they mentioned it didn't come with the inspection tag. don't expect the bright yellow tag you see around, it's printed on the instruction sheet and you have to cut it out to place with the unit. please make sure you inspect the extinguisher monthly. this is refillable so make sure you take it to be refilled if discharged or serviced when that needle shows the charge is weak. overall a decent buy on a good piece of safety equipment. i'll get another for the kitchen soon.

Like other reviews mention mine also came with the tamper seal broken off. But the safety pin was still in place and the box was glued together with no signs of reglueing. I suspect it's simply shipping damage because everything I can see inside the nozzle opening is spotless. Not a huge deal, it's a good idea to have some extra seals on hand anyway, but would have been 5 stars if I could have used it out of the box without having to wait for another seal to come. Also had a tad bit of paint flaked off the bottom edge, normally I wouldn't care since it's out of sight anyway but along with the broken tag it seems shipping may have been a bit rough. Not great packaging from the manufacturer.

This is the first " long term " review I have ever written. I own RAM 1500 with a back rack..in late 2020 I decided to put two fire extinguishers on the rack after I stopped at a crash site where a car was on fire...I wanted them totally exposed with no cover so they could be accessed very quickly if needed. I bought two of this model extinguisher and used the included mounting brackets and installed them on my truck rack...completely exposed to the elements in a State that has harsh winters. I truly did not expect them to last over a year mounted out in the open with rain, sleet, snow and freezing temps. BUT it is now 1/2024 and both extinguishers are still in perfect shape and the valve pressure is still in the green. I am truly amazed and I just had to write this review. If you are looking for a super high quality extinguisher look no further....this is it.
