Out of Print and Oh so cool.
I’ve had my eye on this game for almost two years. It was a hot game when it came out and I have the other version of it. But this version I couldn’t find anywhere for less than $100. I saved my pennies and eventually bought it. This version is the one that has all the turtles as playable characters. The other version you play as the side characters. I found out that IDW is having financial problems and that this game stopped getting produced. It’s a huge box with tiles, miniatures, separate missions and cardboard pizzas. Your characters go on to complete a campaign of separate scenarios. It’s awesome. One of the best “dungeon crawler” type games on the market. You better get it before it’s gone.

Makes you feel like you are a ninja turtle.
This game is so much fun and really immerses you in the world of the ninja turtles. The core mechanic for actions is dice however you roll three dice for your actions and then get two more actions based on what your teammates rolled. This really adds to the cooperation of the game.I have played through the entire base scenarios and it has been a really good time in coop mode. I will be playing in Competitive mode against my son who is 15 and it will just add to the replay value of the game in general. This box comes with everything you need to play as the Turtles or Casey Jones.A few Cons: This box does not include Shredder or any of his baddies you would expect from a Turtles game. For some that will be a put off because when you think Ninja Turtles you think battle with Shredder. IF you want more you need to purchase the City Fall box which gives more scenarios and more playable characters. My other complaint is minor but I want more scenarios to play through. I am used to campaign games being longer than what you get here but they give you options to make things more difficult and even have instructions on how to create your own scenarios. I am perfectly happy with the replay value of this game though.IDW needs to start releasing more board game content unfortunately that doesn't seem to be in the works.

Cowabunga!
Back in 2016, I took a look at IDW Games’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shadows of the Past. It’s a great game that still holds up after years. A few years back, IDW Games Kickstarted two new TMNT games, Change is Constant and City Fall, both using a new streamlined version of IDW’s Adventures Universal Game System. These two new games follow the IDW Publishing TMNT comics and contain a ton of new miniatures and materials.Change is Constant is the first of the two new boxed sets and covers the first few volumes of the IDW TMNT comics. It contains the 4 Turtles and Casey Jones as playable heroes, and Baxter Stockman, Alopex, and Old Hob as villains. There’s also a slew of thugs, Foot, and mousers tossed in. Change is Constant is fully compatible with City Fall (vol 2), and even with Shadows of the Past with a few minor tweaks to some of the mechanics. This new TMNT set is extremely similar to its predecessor. It’s just been cleaned up and given an option for players to play cooperatively without the need for a villain player. Decks of AI cards handle all the villain actions which a extremely refreshing. You can still play 1 vs Many if you’d like. Rules for both modes of play are included in the rule book. All the excellence of Shadows of the Past is still present. Dice sharing, story paths based on wins/losses of scenarios, and amazing miniatures are all present. Unfortunately, while the system has been fixed up and given a new coat of paint, the rule book is fairly poorly laid out and a bit confusing in some places. Watching a “How to Play” video on the internet is highly recommended. That being said, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures: Change is Constant is an amazing game with plenty of fun packed inside the box. It is still one of the best-licensed games out there and that’s without even cracking into the City Fall box. Each boxed set runs $125, which is a bit pricey but is worth every cent. Even if you already own Shadows of the Past it’s worth picking up one or both of the new games. I only wish I had all that sweet Kickstarter content to go along with it.

Product damaged
The box was crushed on one of the corners. Luckily it did not damage any pieces on the inside. However it makes storage a pain to pack and unpack the box.
