Great tablet, especially if you need certain accessable features.
I love my Lenovo tablet! This tablet has a lot going for it. I was looking to replace my Dragon Touch, that only lasted 10 months, and the extra money it cost for this tablet is so worth it. I've also learned my lesson and got an extended warranty. I've just never needed extended warranties with my Kindles since they are such work horses and last a couple of years, at least. My husband uses an old Kindle of my daughters that has got to be at least 5 years old. I am writing this review as a quadriplegic with limited use of my hands. So some of the things I'm going to mention are a particular use for me, but I'm sure are great features for anyone. The screen is clear and bright and doesn't cause eye strain for me. The brightness setting gives me lots of choice on how bright I want the screen. There is a built-in eye protection setting if you want to reduce the blue light coming from your screen. I do not use it because I prefer the brighter screen. The on screen keyboard gives me a lot more options for use than my Dragon Touch did. It is a good size and isn't as overly sensitive as my Dragon Touch keyboard. It gives me a little more time to linger on a letter before it switches to the alternate keys (a verses ã). It also has a predictor pro built in which my last tablet did not have. The microphone setting, so that I can do speech to text, is very good. The keyboard also comes with its own clipboard setting. The speaker is acceptable, but then again, I'm not an audiophile who needs amazing speakers. I do have it hooked up to my Bose Bluetooth speaker, which gives me very nice sound. The speaker works for general web browsing and YouTube viewing. There is plenty of space for all my apps. I haven't even inserted a microSD card, because I still have hordes of space left. It feels fast enough when loading and I haven't noticed any lag time. I love the built-in setting which allows me to wake up my tablet by either double tapping it or raising it up. It's very hard for me to be constantly pushing the power button to wake it up. This feature alone is a big deal for me. I like that there is a indicator light that tells me when my tablet is charging (red, charging - green, charged) which also can be set to flash when I get a notification. Both features can be disabled under the display settings. I would think that the flashing light might be very useful for the seeing impaired. It doesn't take long to charge and holds a charge for a lot longer than my Dragon Touch. I also use a Kindle HD (which I love, but it's obviously not Android) and my cell phone, so I do not use this for really long periods of time. Even with sporadic usage I get two days of use out of it before I have to charge it again. I also don't notice any warmth or heat coming from the battery when I charge it. I'm sure as I get to know my tablet better I will find other settings and options to explore. Overall, I am very happy with my new tablet. Great job Lenovo!

Best inexpensive Android tablet I've ever used
Wow, Lenovo! You are killing it in the low end product line-up these days. I have an AMD-based Flex 14 and for the money its a great multi-purpose laptop. The Tab M8 continues the pattern of offering a great low-end price for very good value. I have been buying, returning, or reselling the spectrum of tablets for a long time in search of one that checks every box I want in a tablet: Inexpensive, reasonably high quality build, acceptable performance and features. First the huge surprise: The battery life is insanely good compared to just about any other tablet I've used. Screen-on time of roughly 16.5 hours at 50-60% brightness and still 15% battery left after a mix of games, browsing, reading PDFs and watching videos. This is just incredible and easily 2x or more the battery life I'm used to seeing in a cheap tablet. I could take this on a very long day of travelling and be reasonable sure I wouldn't need to top up the charge. The resolution is sufficient, but nothing special at 1280x800. However PDFs and text is very readable and quite clear unless you are pressing it to your face so a higher res isn't really necessary and would just negatively impact battery life for little gain. Performance is surprisingly good for a mediatek CPU. In the past the MTK CPUs I've used in inexpensive tablets have been severely lacking in performance, barely able to smoothly scroll a webpage, let alone play games and such. While this CPU benchmarks on the lower end of the spectrum, it still provides a surprising amount of punch and even fairly intense games are mostly smooth and playable. Warning: For netflix HD users, this tablet lacks the DRM chip needed to watch in HD. You can still watch Netflix, but I believe it tops out at DVD resolution or roughly 540p. Since the screen is only effectively 720p its really not that big of a deal for me.

Good tablet
I have a Lenovo laptop that I am fairly happy with, so I decided to try this tablet. Sadly, they both have something in common . . . they freeze up and crash. My laptop does it every time there is an automatic update taking place. This tablet seems to get overwhelmed with fast activity and will crash. I use it primarily for color graphics. I found that if I go slower, it is less likely to crash. Having said this, I actually like this tablet better than some of the others I have tried. I do have an IPad that I love, but use it for work. I wanted something I could use for play that was easy to use and performed well. Lenovo tablet is easy to use and for the most part will perform pretty well. I have just learned that I cannot go at full speed with it, so I doubt it would be a good gaming tablet. I know that its not the software because I had the same program on my IPad initially and it performed extremely well. I can't say that about the same program on this Lenovo tablet. I would still buy it again though because the price is better for my spending style than the expensive IPads. If you need rapid high performance though, I would stick with IPad. I also found that the touch sensitivity has weakened some with use. Sometimes I have to touch it several times to get it to respond. It was not that way in the beginning, but with use has become a slight issue. I'm not annoyed with that yet, but if it gets worse, my rating would drop significantly. Only time will tell.

The Downfall is The Lagging Speed
I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt. I did not want to order an Amazon fire tablet eight. But after trying the Lenovo for just three weeks, I was very very disappointed on how slow it is. Pros. Huge props on the screen quality as it’s very clear and looks like 1080 P even a close because it’s hard to tell a difference on an 8 inch tablet. The battery life is insanely long! You can easily go all day into the next However the Cons Cons It is insanely slow after you load about three additional applications that you normally use. At times it takes up to four seconds to load an app. Once the app is loaded, it’s fine,. But going in between apps, and how slow the screen rotates from any given angle is 100% frustrating and will drive you nuts! I purchased the fire tab 8+2022 to see if I was imagining things. The fire tab 8+ is at least six times faster and everything and I mean everything and even the screen quality is better although I think the mono speaker of the Lenovo is better than the two speakers on the tab fire 8+2022. So regrettably I had to send this one back and I’m actually getting a renewed fire tablet 10+ for only $109. You can get the 10 renewed for only $79 and I guarantee you you’ll have a much better experience in this Lenovo, unfortunately You can watch how to load google apps on the fire tablet switch is very easy and you’ll have a tremendous lightning fast budget machine regardless if you choose the Amazon 8+2022 or the Amazon fire 10+2021. But do yourself a favor and pass on this one the reviews you were seeing are very old and this does not work with new technology applications.

Great tablet, far better than I expected!!! Highly recommend this one!
I ordered this to replace a previous tablet which I for some reason decided to step on and destroy the screen. It was a Samsung Tab A6 (2016), which I was becoming quite frustrated with anyway b/c it only came with 8GB and was constantly out of space, and ran quite slow. I have an iPad Mini 2 which is older and still runs fine. I debated getting a new Samsung,, then on a whim bought the Lenovo Tab M8 TB-8505F. I must say I am impressed! This tablet is far faster,32GB of memory helps, and I'm not certain but I saw somewhere that this has a discrete graphics chip? I could be wrong but that would account for a lot of speed. According to the battery information it has been 5 days and 25 hours of screentime since last full charge, and I have 29% left. The battery life is incredible, given the Samsung would last a good 12 hours after years if use... The Samsung was good, not this good! Now what do I do with my old tablet that still has data on it? If it was worth it I would have it repaired and donate it to a school... If any repair shops would be willing to look at it I would pay a few bucks so a kid could do distance learning! I normally only write a review when I'm mad enough at a product to write and review, it in the RARE occasion such as this a good one(just to put things in perspective!)

Waste of time, will probably return
Okay so to be fair, for a $70-80 tablet maybe my expectations were too high, and I did read concerning reviews but thought “how bad can it really be?” My mistake!! I ordered this as a Christmas gift for my nephew. It arrived 2 days ago and I haven’t even gifted it to him yet, but that’s probably a blessing because at this point I’m leaning towards returning it. He has been playing on an old iPhone of mine (super restricted and only used for games/YT kids), but the phone is on its last leg so I thought a cheap tablet would be a good replacement for him. Apparently I shot too low though because this thing is hardly functional at all. It was easy to set up out of the box, but as soon as setup was complete I had that “uh-oh” moment that I made a mistake. It runs soooooo slow, and there’s nothing even on it yet! Not to mention, I even deleted some of the basic apps it came with when I was setting it up. Not tablet related, but I did super love the Google kids account option. I’ve got restrictions based on his age and everything gets managed from an app on my phone, so that is great. But that’s a Google thing, not a tablet thing. The touch screen on this tablet is not very responsive and the tablet itself is super laggy. I downloaded three games so I could test the control settings I had set up, and now the tablet can hardly move from screen to screen. You’d think I had 100 apps downloaded and all running in the background. It also keeps signing out of Google play for some reason so none of the games work until it gets reconnected each time and that’s a huge pain. Im definitely not going to give it to him yet, and I will reach out to see if the manufacturer can troubleshoot and get this thing working before I go straight to returning it, but I would be absolutely shocked if the ultimate outcome is anything other than this going right back to the Amazon warehouse it came from. Spend a little extra on a better model - this thing is more trouble than it’s worth!!!
