Works well, but damaged in product box by some careless engineering.
Item arrived and I unboxed it to find that the case face was damaged and 3 of the 4 machine screws that are supposed to hold the heating element down were loose and rattling around inside, which left me very unimpressed. The heating element is currently held down by four machine screws that screw into sheet metal brackets welded to the case back. I suspect that, due to the weight of the heating element and maybe some rough handling after manufacture, these machine screws worked them self out (one actually did strip altogether) and then one or more got trapped between the heating element and the case front. In communication with the sellers (who are very good, BTW), I suggested that instead of just relying on the bracket to hold such a heavy component, that each bracket should also have a clip nut. I also asked for a replacement front cover, but accepted a $20 goodwill refund when told that none was available. So I hooked the unit up and it actually works quite well. The thermostat seems to be a bit of a wild card, and I haven't played around with it enough yet to figure out if it's over-reading or not, but it appears to be 10 degrees off (higher) than the actual water temperature at the tap. To see if at least some of that temperature loss is between the heater and the tap (which is about 50 feet away - had to put the unit where I currently had 240v for now) I would need to disconnect the hot side again, which I may or may not do. Also, after a bunch of messing around trying to increase the indicated water flow (which, for me, eventually maxed out at 1.4gpm), I am now under the very distinct impression that this unit is incapable of delivering more than 1.5gpm, which is admittedly all the manufacturer claims in at least some of their product info., But, still, they do persist in showing 1.8gpm in all the pictures of the unit and claim a theoretical 1.8gpm in the manual. Certainly I have enough delivery for hand washing but doubt the unit would be acceptable for showering. Please feel free to comment if you have the same unit and are doing better with it (commenting requires a computer - the app does not support this feature). Upate: Unit has failed today with an E2 error code that comes up moment the unit has power applied to it after resetting via the circuit breaker. Have only been able to clear the code and get the unit to resume heating once by resetting the breaker, only to have it shut off with the same error code after less than a minute of operation. Am waiting on contact from the seller but am not optimistic since the unit is out of warranty by 3 months and other reviewers seem to have had customer service issues.

Does the job
Updating my rating to 4 stars. Customer support was very responsive and sent me a new unit. They sent an EcoTouch 8kW which is more appropriate for my under kitchen sink application. It is smaller, heats/responds faster, and turns itself on after a power loss. Overall I am much happier with the 8kW for my use. Anyone wanting to get hot water to a remote kitchen sink I suggest the 8KW even though the 9KW is same price. ================ Install was easy enough. Usually works but often the temp will not rise to the set temperature. I set mine to 120F, and often it will only get to 108 as shown on the display. Turn it off and on again sometimes fixes it, but several times I have turn off the breaker to reset. This is a hassle to crawl under my kitchen cabinet or go out to garage to reset. If you lose power it does not turn back on, must reach under the cabinet to turn it back on. Would not purchase this brand again, willing to pay more for higher quality.

LEAK AFTER A YEAR NOT USING.
IT'S SUCKS BIG TIME, INSTALLED IN THE APT, COULD NOT RENT IT OUT FOR ABOUT 1 YEAR, THEN 1 DAY JUST TEST IT OUT AND IT'S LEAK ALL OVER. THE INSIDE CONNECTION IS RUSTED AND CORODED.

Excellent product Excellent service
I bought the ecotouch ECO90B2 and this water heater works fast and hot. I like the display because it tells me all the info I need to know. It shows gallons per minute and that helped me diagnose a problem with my water well pump and I was able to correct the problem easily. And when I needed help I was able to email them and they replied and understood what I was talking about and helped me resolve all my problems. I can tell you that this water heater gives me hot water right away and I can run my shower as long as I want without fear of running out of hot water. It's great to be able to select the exact temperature I want on the units display too. I expected my electric bill to go up but I was very happy that my electric bill actually went down. The customer service is kind and knowledgeable and helpful! And the Ecotouch ECO90B2 works great and I recommend buying one.

Great heater, but you can only wire it from the side of the unit. See pictures
This is next to impossible to wire up and I am a union electrician. The factory did not put a knock out in the back of the heater to run the power. You can only enter the side of the heater with power and it says you can’t take the screws out of the back cover or it will void the warranty. They give you a 3/4” straight strain relief connector (that is good for 8/3 SO cord ) this cord is the size of your thumb. If you’re lucky you can find a 3/4” 90 degree strain relief connector, so you can run down the side of the heater and into a junction box witch will look better than running out side ways. If it hadn’t been three or four days since I had a shower I would have sent it back! I was able to get into the only hole they provide with a chase nipple, into a 3/4” 90 pulling elbow with a 2” 3/4”nipple into a 2 gang metal wall plate (bell box type). Because they put the access plate on the side of the unit (and it’s the only way out of it) your limited to it looking decent on the wall. Other than that it’s a WONDERFUL heater! (I wouldn’t wrap my wife with a towel to do a glamour shot with this heater as good looking as she is!!) PS I will be painting the fittings and plate black to make it look more glamorous for my wife. Lol

The body is all metal and much better built than the last model we had, with a plastic unibody casing. Heats better too. Apreciate the smal water filter for impurities where the water goes in. Brackets to install on the wall are not great. Also please be mindful that you will need a proper electric cable for this machine.

Four stars are based on what I know so far, I have not used it yet. I have to say so far I am quite pleased. I received it today and was nervous at first, because although it was double boxed the Styrofoam in the inner box was beat up quite badly, but the unit looks good inside and out. It’s funny they put a tamper proof sticker over the cover screw on the bottom right hand corner yet inside is where the reset button is, so I’ve already removed that screw plus to do a nice mounting job ( without using their brackets for a cleaner look) you need to go inside anyways,m. The construction of this unit looks really, really good. The last unit I bought I had returned for two reasons, the first one is that I ordered an 8000 watt unit and when I took the cover off to mount it, it only had a 6000 W heater in it (not from this company), and secondly, it really looked like crap and very cheap especially inside, the connections looked weak, and the soldering looked terrible. This unit is much heavier, much more solid, much better finish inside and out just looks and feels like much higher quality. I sure hope it works nice when I get to hook it up, I will update after.
