Quite functional as an 8-AA-cell holder. The use of a 9-volt-style clip adds flexibility for connecting/disconnecting. The lack of any kind of mounting flange presents a problem though - how are you going to secure the battery pack in your project?

Worked out great!

The main reason I gave it 5 stars it fits my fisher under water metal detector. The battery pack is a hair bigger but works perfectly.
