Exactly What You're Looking For To Replace Lack Of Headphone Jack On Newer Phones
First, lets clarify something. I'm not sure why other people are complaining so much in some reviews. This adapter does exactly what it is supposed to do. It replaces the lack of a 3.5mm headphone jack on newer phones and provides a way to charge your phone at the same time. The product description clearly states that it won't fit if you have a very thick case on your device. This is nothing new in the small electronics device world. Suck it up buttercup. If your device case is an issue, and preventing you from using this product in the way it is intended, get a new case. The product itself is fantastic! It fits securely in the USB-C receptacle of my Samsung S22 Ultra, with a mild but positive click. There is no setup involved. You simply plug in your phones or IEM's and off you go. This brings us to the audio quality. It's simply outstanding, far surpassing my expectations. Either by using a decent DAC chip or building a proper circuit around that chip, or both, it has plenty of juice to drive ant IEM and likely most low ohm headphones to sufficient loudness levels. Paired with a good app like Poweramp, you are in business. I'm very impressed that such a small investment provides this much performance. Do not be swayed by the negative reviews, and obvious personal issues that are a "one-off" situation, with individuals who have unrealistic expectations for a product that goes for under $20.00. If you want a very decent DAC/USB-C to 3.5mm converter, and don't need additional amplification to drive headphones, these are the answer. I would buy this again over and over if I were to lose mine. I don't know what kind of longevity I'll get from this product, but it feels solid. Cable Creations builds other high quality items that I use in other parts of my personal device instruments, digital audio workstation, and home studio. They always have mainstream and difficult to find gear, with value and performance that exceeds my expectations at a price that beats the competition. Go for it.

I like it
This adapter was chosen because the previous one I had used cords to connect the ports and after a while, the corded one got a short and I had to hold it a particular way to get sound. So I decided to get one with no cords. The corded one provided good sound quality when it worked and I was very pleased to see that this one also gives good sound quality. Some reviews say the charging and sound cannot work together. That may depend on the type of phone you have. Mine can work simultaneously because I have an S20. There is a chart that shows which phones can work well with the adapter.

A good adapter to use!
Really helps with having only 1 usb c jack. You can charge your phone and use the headphones all at once. But the adapter can get pretty warm. So be careful of that. It's small so portable when going places. I usually put it in my fanny and take it out to use when needed. It is durable.

It doesn't work.
I tried numerous times to like this thing and maybe I got a bad one but it hasn't worked from day one. I pulled it out of the package and hooked up the headphone jack to an old stereo we have in our shop and it started playing music just fine. I plugged in the charge cord at the same time and my phone told me to charge faster use the supplied charger, this didn't really bother me as I bought it for music playing and not for the changing feature. After about 1&1/2 minutes of play time the music stopped and I'd have to hit play again as if it had been unplugged, after doing this several times I unplugged it and checked the phone port for lint and other debris and it was clean. I then checked the headphone port and it was also clean. I plugged it back into my phone and checked to make sure my phone case was not obstructing it from going into the port but there was daylight between and it was all the way into the port. I have messed with this thing for weeks on my off days to no avail. I found one for $3.99 at the local convenience store by chance and it works flawlessly. I wouldn't waste my money on this thing if given the chance again.

Sound sometimes just stops
This device is great when it's working, but after about 10-15 minutes of charging and listening to music, it begins to heat up and the sound starts intermittently cutting out. Sometimes hitting play will start it back up without issue, but usually it will play for a few seconds and then pause again. I'm unsure if the headset connection is dropping out causing the phone to pause the music, but it's largely unusable for periods longer than about 10 minutes.

Versatile Gadget
Very versatile as I carry it in my purse. It has bailed me out of situations where my electronic accessories don't match and here comes this little gadget allaying all anxiety.

Not perfect, lasted 5 months
I need these to play games on my phone. Headphones have to be hardwired because Bluetooth has a delay and u have to react to audio ques. I appreciate the right angle design, that's where my palm goes so it's nice to have that flat. 1 flaw: it's not a snug fit. When plugged in the space between the body and the phone is enough to give u a lot of wiggle and wobble. When I'm in the middle of a gunfight, the audio cuts out cause the connection was lost for a second. I had to wrap the body in electrical tape to close the gap, and it still was having issues. Also a little strange, I noticed the thing gets hot after using it for a while. My phone says charging connected device via USB. Whatever. Just now, about 5 months later, it finally took a crap. Was watching a video for 2 seconds and I heard slight static and a fade to nothing. The aux port is clean and clear, I always keep the headphones plugged into it. I will not be purchasing another one. I will search for a better product that suits my needs. I just wanted to share with people cause I wish I knew about these things before buying. These issues might mean nothing to everyone else. If ur using a tablet, ur usually playing flat on a surface not man handling it like an Xbox controller. Or normal everyday use, sure. It'll work fine for u.

Have tried many many different brands of USB to 3.5mm audio adaptors for using wired headsets with phones that no longer provide a headphone jack. I have tried generic chinese brands, UGREEN, etc, but this cable creations PD supporting version was the best of the batch in terms of both audio quality, audio ouput levels (many are quite quiet and do not provide much in the way of high output audio for less sensitive higher impedance headphones) as well as fully support USBC power charge passthrough of PD and PPS signals, allowing your device to charge at its maximum rate whilst using the headset. It also support microphone input for full headset functionality and was completely seemless to use. Audio quality is high, high resolution 96kHz, 24 bit capable, and very sturdy usb connection that is not too thick to fit in a USB Port when it is inside a case make this my go to.... After buying one of each of 5 different types to try them out, I purchased another 2 of these and gave the others away. Only Caveats to watch for which are clearly in the item description is you need a CTIA standard headset device (tech speak for an android compatible microphone based headset) - all 3.5mm headphones will work regardless. If your wired headset is wired for the Apple standard then it will work only for listening to audio, and not for microphone recording. IF your USB Charge is not a USB PD (Power Delivery standard) device, then it will fallback to legacy USB-C charging, but will disable the audio interface whilst charging. Very Highly recommended.
