Does the job.
This makes filming easier. It's great for holding a boom mic when you don't have the help!

Excellent--intended for use in grip head on sturdy stand with sandbag.
This boom pole holder is sturdy, simple and works perfectly. (The only negative reviews seemed to be for some other product--irrelevant info.) A little extra length on the mounting stud gives clearance both to insert the boom and to operate the grip head that this mounts in. Note that it is intended to mount on a stand with a grip head, and without a grip head this will be of no use. (Grip head not included but readily available at about $25.)

You'll need a couple things to make it work first
Get yourself a good grip head and sturdy stand, preferably a c-stand. This boom pole holder works great but it's only as sturdy as the stand and grip head you're using it with. No complaint with this product. It works great and is a must have. I have a colleuge that has a fancy boom holder that cost probably 10 times as much as this one. It is the dumbest thing I have ever seen and literally performs the exact same function as this simply designed boom holder. For the cost, it's a no brainer. I have two (the other is a different brand but almost identical).

Solid specialty sound equipment
I use this microphone cradle on a Neewer extension pole hand held and also mounted on my C-stand boom arm in the studio with an Audio-Technica AT8035 microphone. The cradle is a durable grade of metal with a rubber coating to protect the microphone. It is strong and holds up well.

God Addition to Gear for Boom Kits
An effective piece of gear when you have a long shoot and don't want to operate a bppm handheld. Easy to add to any Cstand and have used it with various sized book poles without any issue. Can be wobbly at time so make sure you really place the pole well before stepping away.

Not for Fishing
These Boom Pole holders may look just like the ones holding your fishing pole, but they are not. The difference is that these do not have threads on the bottom to bolt them onto your favorite fishing pier. Instead the bottom shaft is smooth and easily slips in to a C-stand head to hold your microphone's boom pole solidly in place. Simple, elegant design that will last a lifetime.

The right product for the job
This is a perfect product for the tiring task of mic-ing someone with a shotgun when doing a seated or stationary interview. The sound artist can focus on the quality of sound, rather than the exhausting task of holding a boom mic in place. For moving scenes, obviously, not a solution. Vendor shipped on time, well packaged. Thumbs up!
