Entertaining Reboot
MILD SPOILERS. What I didn’t realize is that the series is a soft reboot of the Bears, this time they’re a reform school team and Buttermaker is coaching them to stay out of jail. I did not expect much, but the show is surprisingly fresh and entertaining. The cast is good, and the series stays close to the spirit of the movies..Tanner’s mouth is cleaned up some of course. Most of the characters are there, except for Whitewood and Feldman, apparently. Regi Tower returns in the form of a very young Corey Feldman, who was then quite a charming kid. Tricia Cast is a perfect Amanda, and my favorite character on the show. For super nerds like myself, not Bears cannon but enjoyable nonetheless. If you’re a fan, WELL worth the price!

Almost perfect
Like others, I was surprised to find this even available. Not the greatest sitcom, but still holds up as a cute show and great for nostalgia. The only problem here is with the way too many episodes are crammed onto each disc, resulting in low bit rates, too much compression. It's ironic that the discs carry a warning about the age of the source materials, etc, when they actually look fantastic in that regard. It's VEI trying to keep it to a 2-disc set that degraded the quality.Disc 1 isn't so bad, as it's 12 episodes, but disc 2 really suffers as it has an additional 2 episodes.. 14 episodes of about 24 minutes each, that's over 5 and a half hours on one dual layer disc. If they'd just mastered for 3 discs, I think this would be an amazing presentation. They're currently selling this for $11 but I would have gladly paid $20 for a 3 disc set.The episodes are still decent looking and watchable, don't get me wrong. But if you're like me and notice quality issues, this one might bug you a bit.

For Bad News Bears Fans
I'm a huge fan of the original Bad News Bears movies and I needed this to complete my collection. this is a great set that compiles all the episodes of the short lived series.Season 1 is great and has everything a Bad News Bears fan would want, lots of bumbling baseball action. It definitely takes alot from the first movie but it builds around that storyline.Season 2 is a huge disappointment. there is very little baseball and revolves more around the kids and school life as well as personal relationships. it's totally not what was fun about the Bears franchise.I'd definitely recommend this set for fans of the old Bad News Bears movies or fans of late 70s early 80s sitcoms but maybe just watch the first season.

The Bears are ok!
I had heard of this series during its original run but never actually got to watch it. Jack Warden did a great job as Mr. Buttermaker. The kids were all pretty familiar and went on to do other things. I liked the school administrator to, she was great. Quality of the DVD is good & the theme music & and background music was wonderful. I would recommend this product to people with a penchant for retro tv. The Bears are ok!

Corny but good memories
This show began the same time as my Little League career, and I hadn't seen it in 40 years. The picture quality was great, and it was fun watching, although I have to admit, the episodes are kinda corny. And today's snow flakes would not have made it back in the day, so many fat jokes on poor ole overweight catcher Engelberg.

Bears had their moment
Tv show of bad news bears that came out on cbs in 1979-1980 was ok. Rarely remember seeing it on tv. First season has kelly leak with the bears. Second season kelly is gone with no explantion what happen. Like any other tv show, based on growing up and learning lessons. To bad writers could've done better.
