Costarricense que se respeta siempre tiene salsa Lizano en su mesa. Especialmente para los tamales de Navidad. Fue una de las cosas que más extrañé de mi país y ahora la puedo comprar cuando la necesito.

You can't make gallo pinto without it
The title says it all. I like little more than chopped onions, rice, and black beans fried up in a pan served with a fried egg on top for breakfast but it's not gallo pinto without the salsa lisano. This is exactly the stuff I grew up with. It is the sabor tico.
