Remedy Microbead Pillow - Moldable and Temperature Regulating Cushion Ergonomic Pillow - Supports Head, Neck and Shoulders for Restful Sleep and Travel - (White)

My old pillow, which I used for about 7 years- broke, and I couldn’t sleep properly without it. I tried a few different pillows, but nothing felt right, and I was really struggling with sleep. Then I found this one, and it feels very similar to my old pillow. It’s soft, comfortable, and supports my head just right. Now I’m finally sleeping well again and feel so much better. Very happy with this purchase!

First, I'll start by saying that I think pillow reviews are a sketchy endeavor to begin with because one man's dream pillow is another man's horror - so take this for what it's worth. Me: - medium sized person, tall-ish, not heavy - side/stomach sleeper (sleep on my side with my head and body angled downward, so half on my stomach) - sleep on a very soft mattress so my shoulder sinks in a fair amount - I have issues with neck and shoulder pain At first I thought this pillow was WAY too big and stiff, but after trying 5 other pillows with no luck, I went back to this one because I've had luck with microbead pillows in the past - I used to use the Pinzon Microbead Pillow, but they don't seem to make it anymore. Anyhow, I had to stretch the cover a bit (it's sort of a spandex type material) to get the loft down to a reasonable size, and now I'm quite happy with it - though I do have to stretch and form it a bit each night to make it comfortable. This pillow looks like you should put your head on the little sewn U shape, but I found it to be much more comfortable if I turned it around - so the channel behind the U shape creates a little neck support region (no idea if that made sense or not). I do have to shake the beads to one side and squish it around a bit to get it comfortable (for me that means more of the stuffing behind my head less in front of my face) - but once I find a comfortable position it stays that way and doesn't go flat or shift around. It is definitely much smaller than a standard pillow - swims in a standard sized pillow case, but I haven't noticed any offensive smells. I do get a bit of ear pain with this pillow, but not nearly as bad as everything else I've tried, and now that it's stretched out a bit, I'm FINALLY able to sleep with no neck or shoulder pain. So that's my experience - YMMV. Just as an aside - if your pillow search is anywhere near as onerous as mine was, you have my utmost sympathy - it just totally sucks to be exhausted and in pain all the time. My advice is, once you find something that works, buy several of them - whether it's this pillow or another!

This little pillow was surprisingly firm when I first got it. It also had a definite chemical odor that took awhile to fade. I wasn't sure that I could tolerate the odor and the firmness at first, but when you're in enough pain, you'll give anyrhing a fair trial. (I have had a severe whiplash injury in the past) After pushing and wallowing a proper head space into it, it was comfortable enough to give a serious trial. My neck really, really liked this pillow--best cervical support I have tried so far--enough to make me ignore the smell. The firmness quickly softened up just the right amount, and for the next few months this pillow was marvelous. By the end of the 3rd month though, the cover had stretched out until it was no longer giving me the support that I needed. By the 4th month, the numb arms, headaches and painful, stiff neck were back with a vengence. A shame, since these pillows probably contribute heavily to pollution during manufacturing and this one is landfill-ready after only three months.

I gave this odd little pillow a try for two nights, but I must say that it is truly worthless. It is too small and light and gives absolutely no support at all. It has an odd smell. I would not pay a dollar for it at the Dollar Store. Not even worth my time and effort to return it, so it's going in the garbage. Customer Service has helped me with a full refund.

UPDATED 6/2/17 - the first one was exceptional so ordered a second. that one looked okay BUT after one night found it had 'leaked' many of the very tiny round white rubber microbeads all over the sheets. amazon was great, they sent a replacement out even before i had the chance to send in the faulty one back. the replacement i received was just as good as the first e.g. zero issues. fyi i am guessing that the seams on that 2nd one weren't tight enough, separating just enough under pressure to allow those very tiny beads to leak out. i have had no problems whatsoever since. a decade ago, a bike accident & surgeries which left me with upper neck problems. i have tried every type of pillow i could find in hopes of getting a decent night's rest. so many i've lost count. be they memory foam pillows, down, shredded foam, fiber fill, seed husk, etc. none worked for me. then i thought to give this one a try & i could not be happier. this flat style micro-bead pillow is as said BETTER THAN ANY OTHER TYPE OF PILLOW i have ever used. i no longer wake due to pain, needing to move around. bonus benefit so to speak, it stays 'cool.' as to size it is a bit smaller than a standard sized pillow but works better than all those other full sized pillows in large part because it does NOT compress down so much. anyone who has used memory foam pillow knows what i am referring to. *this is an excellent replacement for a full sized pillow especially for those who have upper back/neck problems. >>Updated 5/23/17 - my experience with the pillow was so positive i ordered a second as a spare. i never want to risk going back to those old pillow types again.<<
