Bought this valve actuator to allow us to control a chicken coop door. The app works perfectly to allow you to open and close the door remotely. I know this review is kind of crazy since we repurposed the actuator for a completely different application. But hey! Think of all the things you could do! The motor has good torque and can move a pretty hefty door or whatever.

I have bought a few different smart water valves over the last few years. This one is the best by far. We use this as a door opener for our chicken coop. The real test point on each valve we've bought is how well it works in the cold. It has been consistently below 35 degrees for a couple of weeks & it has worked every time. Already bought a spare one & will again in the future if this one fails.

It’s very easy to use! I connected it via Bluetooth and connected to google home as well so it can close my chickens door before sunset!

This actuator is pretty good when it is properly set up. In my case, this involved cutting part of the mounting bracket off to make it fit my 3/4” water valve and adding a sleeve over the valve stem nut and the actuator nut to hold the actuator in place because the mounting was too flexible, allowing the shafts to misalign when it opens / closes the valve. The app works, but is a bit clunky. Update: The actuator is now showing as being offline and I can't reconnect to the router. The instructions are confusing at best. I'll keep trying, but it's no use to me if I can't control it remotely. Update: I contacted customer service and they gave me simple instructions for reconnecting to the network. It worked and it has been back online for two weeks now. I just ordered another one!

Update my review to 1 star. This didn’t make it a year. After a power outage it shuts off on power up. Won’t work or communicate anymore. It will only power off my valve. I have a main house surge protector and had a local surge protector too. So I think just bad design. Old review follows: Uses Smart Life App for WiFi remote operation. Had to do some mods to work w a 3/4” Copper pipe sweat ball valve. Flipped handle on valve. Added bronze sleeve I split in half so the tube was big enough to clamp on. There’s a second design but I couldn’t get the motor operator and valve axis to align. Added 1/2” conduit cut to 1/2” long as a method to go over ball valve nut & operator nut and keep the 2 in alignment. Screw band clamp it came with holds the two tight while opening. Ball valve is not easy to rotate so this has a decent amount of force on it. The pins are adjustable that press against the handle to set open & closed position. Looks like gear drive motor box with limit switches. Can disconnect for manual operation.

Awesome product. I use it as an actuator for a chicken door. It is reliable, I can schedule its operation, and I can operate it remotely. Much more reliable than automatic chicken doors that cost over $100.

Easy to install, quickly paired with Smart Life app which we use for other items. We use this to control input to the cistern from the well.

The valve has a very short lever arm, so it makes it hard to get enough force to turn the water valve in my case...though might work fine with newer piping. Also had a hard time securing it adequately with the ratcheting strap piece to keep the valve in place, so it would move instead of the valve. Again, probably cause of my weird piping set up. There is a more solid piece of metal that it comes with that can attach it to the pipe, but that only works in certain orientations, apparently. Like in my case, it would have been trying to turn the valve the wrong way, assuming it could even fit close enough to the pipe to attach it. To make maters worse, it completely stopped working while I was still trying to install it. Not sure if it like broke itself when it was twisting out of the way instead of moving the water valve switch. So, it's probably worth a shot in some instances/set ups, but might not work in all. It also doesn't fit wider water valve arms, so would have to rig up a work-around in those cases. So, I'm giving it 3 stars, cause don't really know how well it would have worked in an ideal scenario. The app did seem to control it fine in my tests, before trying to install it. The lever arm is really short, though, as I mentioned, so not sure it could have moved my valve anyway, had I been able to properly secure it. Had it worked and not broken, LOL, I would have been thrilled, as it is a nifty solution to remotely turning the water on and off.

Product is good as of now. Scheduling open and Close is very helpful. Operation via app from anywhere makes it awesome

Product is good, quility is satisfactory fulfilling my need to auto close the valve if i dont want to water supply other than muncipal supply.
