I like that this oil is in a Glass bottle. That helps. I have never used Lemon Eucalyptus before but after a bit of easy research I see it is indeed as effective as Citronella at keeping mosquitos and ticks away. It has a very citronella-like smell but it is not quite as sharp as citronella and has a slightly more lemon smell to it. Like all REAL essential oils, and unlike all synthetic essential oils, this 100% pure Lemon Eucalyptus oil will fade away before any manufactured or synthetic bug spray will. I find citronella and lemon eucalyptus must be re-applied about every hour for clothes and a bit sooner when sprayed directly on the skin. IMHO, this is a good deal since ALL bug spray ingredients especially DEET is super toxic and remeber our Skin will absorb most of what is sprayed onto it, even tho DEET and Pecarinin (?) the new less toxic Deet-like stuff will stay effective for 12 hours, they say. Any way, I think using a zero-toxic spray of lemon eucalyptus mixed w citronella is a much better choice than using any synthetic product, ESPECIALLY for KIDS!

The scent is very strong, but it is a very potent repellent. I made my own insect repellent oil and repellent water that I even use to spray on my dogs to keep bugs off. It shoos away all types of insects, mosquitos, gnats, even spiders. I went on a camping trip with some friends and while they all complained of bug bites and spider bites, I was bite and bug free! Did a couple of sprays around my tent and sleeping bag. I use some on my hair at times because my hair products tend to attract bugs flying around. This is my go to repellent. It’s effectiveness is unmatched.

I love this oil! I recently learned that Lemon Eucalyptus isn't a blend of 2 oils, but its own separate species of plant - it produces this wonderfully light, lemony version of eucalyptus that works really well for all sorts of things. This Lemon Eucalyptus is not blended with a carrier oil or anything else - it's definitely 100% pure essential oil, steam-distilled. It's fresh and potent, lemony and woodsy - wonderful to add to bath oil, diffuser, to pain remedies, to cleaning sprays, linen sprays, even insect repellent formulas. It's a really useful, versatile oil to keep on hand. I love this company for their consistency - always really high quality oils, always pure and 100% essential oils. Was expecting this on Monday but received it Sunday, nice aroma. Can’t wait to see if it does what they claim. Will order from them again.

We had a mosquito problem in our house because my husband was growing microgreens in the spare bedroom using a method that involved standing water. I was getting just chewed up. I bought some other tools but got this for my poor ankles that were red with scratching. The smell is strong but not unpleasant. I put it on when I sat down to watch tv and could go for several hours without a single bite. All natural and you can't beat that!

Added this to my candle outside for mosquito repellant. Smells great good quantity not sure how effective because we don’t seem to have to bad a problem or it worked well.

Very strong unpleasant odor, that insect do not seem to mind.
