ARRIVED EARLY IN PLAIN BROWN BOX, EASY TO ASSEMBLE, WORKS GREAT, FEELS SECURE , FOLDS - GREAT FOR BAD KNEES!
This is a 'sometimes' aide for me. I am only bothered by painful, weak knees during big weather changes but when they happen I get hit hard, as in I can't get up out of bed, chairs, or off the toilet. I was excited to see this product on Amazon and at a decent price. It's exactly what I needed. Having the two grips at different heights is the best plus you also have numerous options to adjust the height of the entire unit. The lower grips make it way more versatile than a normal walker and are especially helpful for getting up and down from beds, chairs, toilets. Your average walker only has the higher grip which is nice as a walking aide but not as helpful with getting up and down plus it puts lots more strain on the upper body when doing so. Having the option to fold the unit is fantastic as you can take it along without filling up the entire back seat of your car and it's also easy to stick in a closet when not in use. It's very light weight - I only need it to get up and down, not to walk so when I'm walking I just hold the entire unit up off the floor so it's light weight is greatly appreciated. I feel very secure and safe using this aide with my 160 lb frame. Thank You Amazon for carrying such a good product!

GREAT walker for really stable transfers....
Solved a lot of problems for us helping our elderly father get in and out of a car. Just one button closing mechanism, which is really handy when you are trying to help someone. You press the button and both sides can slide right in. With the two button mechanisms, you always need two hands free, and can only close one side at a time. NOTE: I was told by the manufacturer that wheels and glides cannot be added to this model (although some reviewers said they did add them?), so it needs to be lifted or dragged to move if walking. However, that makes it really stable and is quite ideal for us making transfers in and out of a car when we want it to be rock solid as my father tries to stand or sit, so it doesn't move away from him. So, for in the home, we purchased a second walker with wheels and glides so it can slide along as he walks. We keep this one in the trunk of the car for convenience anyway, so that works just fine for us.

This easily folds flat to put in the car
I bought this for my Dad who will be 90 years old next month. Though he has a lift chair here at home, he has a lot of trouble getting up from chairs in doctor offices because a lot of them doesn't even have arms on the chairs in the waiting room. This easily folds flat to put in the car. He used it at the doctor's office for the first time this week and had no trouble lifting himself from the chair in the waiting room. It also makes it so much easier for him to get out of the car. Once he turns himself around and gets he legs out, he's still in the seated position and has always had trouble getting himself out. With this UpRise walker placed in front of him, he was able to get up from the car with no problems. I highly recommend this walker over any others.

Make sure this is what you really want before ordering
This product is well made and appears that it would work well, but make certain that it is exactly what you want before ordering. We accidentally ordered this product while looking for something much smaller that would fit through our narrow doorways. This walker is HUGE!!! It would be great for a very large person with wide doorways but we cannot use it. The problem for us was the return policy, and we should have checked more closely but thought we had the right piece of equipment and took it for granted that it was covered by Amazon's usual great return policy. This third party company only accepts returns on UNOPENED items. but of course we opened it and tried it with our doorways. They also charge you a 20% restocking fee, your original shipping fee and you have to pay the return shipping fee as well, IF they would even accept it since we had opened the box and put the walker together to test it. By the time we did all that, it would be pointless to return the walker as it would cost nearly as much to return as the walker did. We decided to take this as a lesson in purchasing on Amazon. Instead of returning, it we will look for someone to donate it to. DO NOT press the order button unless something comes directly from Amazon with their great return policy and not from a third party that's nearly impossible to deal with.

Be careful- you need practice!
The idea of this is great, however there were no instructions on how to use it. Looks simple enough for my mother to use? I put this together, measured it to my height and tried it myself. Sitting in a chair, trying to use the lower bars as leverage to stand caused the walker to tip forward and hit me in my mouth?! The only way I found was to be sitting inside the walker before trying to stand. Then it was totally stable. I asked a physical therapist that works in my mother’s home if I was missing something? You really have to watch the placement of your feet. They need to be even with the legs of the walker. Then he only would use one lower walker arms along with his other hand on the arm of the chair he was sitting in to rise up. My mother has Dementia and having to be careful of foot placement etc. is too difficult in this stage of development. Perhaps if she would have become accustomed to this walker earlier it would have worked for her? It feels very substantial and well made. This walker asks that you don’t trade feet on it. I agree with them, because if it slides as you’re trying to use it to stand-you might be on the floor. I’m giving it one star less because there were no instructions in the box on its use, other than putting it together.

Yes, those lowered handles are life savers!
Take it from me, recovering from bi-lateral knee replacements: You need this item. I took it to 2 weeks of hospital rehab and never found myself using those lower handles, but as soon as I got home--use them all the time! They really help when getting out of low seats or out of bed. They allow you to get up in stages, without having to pull yourself up until your upper body is super sore. You can push off from the lower handles, much easier and more efficient. Big perk: Good for people up to 400 pounds!
