Couldn't possibly work.....yet it does! Brilliant.
I initially bought the X5. Has an iphone app. I prefer it for indoors. Light and long cord. Then I bought an HCR-09 which is bulkier, but has an auto spray function which was better on outdoor buggy windows. No iphone app for the HCR (though the pads are interchangeable. Easy to use outdoors with a portible 110 supply as it draws only 50 watts.) Buy extra pads. You will go through a lot on initial cleaning. Amazing how much grime is on 'clean' windows. It is slow, especially when you do 2 or three passes with clean pads each time for the first cleaning. At this price, I ended up buying 2 X5 and 2 HCR-09. The systems are slow, and do require some monitoring. They will sometimes get confused and lock in place, and need a slight move command from the remote to get back on track. I ended up removing the safety lanyards. Extra weight, and they just dont fall. In fact, on large glass doors like a shower, they are smart enough to detect they are at the edge, and reverse course. We have 15 foot window walls and 10 foot sliding glass doors. Getting 4 was worth it. I can do an entire room inside and out in an hour or 2. With one unit, and the multiple passes with clean pads it takes to get a window really polished clean, takes a good part of a day. That would be fine if it was 100% autonomous, but as I mentioned, it will stop (still happily stuck to the glass) every 15-20 minutes, and needs you to use the remote to move it away from an edge that confused it. One other little discovery we made. Glass is actually somewhat 'porous' enough for the suction system to work. We have a shower with a 12 foot long by 10 foot high window wall. We had used rainX on it to stop water stains, even with softened water. RainX makes the glass too slippery for the device to climb, and needs to be removed for the 'window worm' to do its thing. One thing that would be neet was if there were some kind of pole system or such where I could attach the critter up high, and then get it back down. We have windows whose bottoms are 12 feet up, and I need to use a ladder to climb up to stick it on to do those windows. Not sure how they might do that, but it would be slick. Also a bit baffled why these otherwise clever chinese companies cannot hire a native english speaker to proof the documentation. Its adequate, but you got to wonder 'Please place the sine on the area beneathed your device so in the evented fall, no one transitting the earth be injurred.' I am paraphrasing.... Great product. Will easily pay for itself in saved third party cleaning fees. And with the 4 units, I can do the whole house monthly, instead of the quarterly I pay a window cleaning service. Stunning how clear a polished window is, versus guys with soap and a squeegee

Good enough for a robot
I decided to keep the robot because it did 80% of the job, however a couple notes to make: it does tend to fall from my windows. Not because the pad is too moist as the manufacturer noted on his descriptions. My window frame is beveled. It’s not flat so sometimes when the machine goes down it slips on the frame. The solution I found which works 80% is to put the machine at the bottom and start it with moving up function (not left and right). As for how much the pads need to be moist, I found two spray puffs are enough. The only thing I have not figured out is where to tie the safety tie. I have balcony glass doors or very tall windows and no where to tie the hook. And the places I found still cause the machine to hit the ground when it falls. The manufacturer hasn’t explained where to tie them hook to prevent it from hitting the ground. One last thing, the pad needs to change often because it will create marks on the window if dirty. All an all, it serves my purpose because I have windows that are not accessible as I live in the hills so this helps. But if you have windows that you clean, it will probably be the same effort to clean them. A couple updates: I wish the control buttons were on the equipment itself. Having to always keep the remote handy is annoying. Putting the cleaning cloth hurts my hand every time when I put them on because the cloth is too tight and the ring has sharp edges. The robot has been acting out and just moves in its place and doesn’t move around. I need to figure out what’s going on or return it.

Excellent Value for Money. Does the Job
I have 1,200 sq ft (111 sq ms) of dual-pane glass with the inside surface covered with 3M SunPro PR-40. Of this, 800sq ft reaches 18' above floor level. This makes cleaning the window glass very problematic inside, much less outside, which I've never attempted and this is done only every 2-4 years by the home owners' association. I was skeptical that a robot could clean glass effectively without streaking, much less cling to a vertical surface while doing the job. This robot looks like an electric floor polisher (two rotating pads) without the long handle. It has a powerful motor that creates enough vacuum that it clings securely to the glass from one pad which rotates letting the 2nd spinning pad do the cleaning. The role of each pad gets reversed so any dirt is evenly collected by both pads.. Surprisingly, I really like the fact that it operates off line voltage and must be plugged in with an electric cord in order to function. No more waiting for recharging to be finished! You can use this device continuously all day and it continues to do a thorough job without a break. The only "cons" are: 1. The instruction manual is badly organized which makes it incoherent even if the English were intelligible (which much of it is not!). 2. The robot is fairly noisy but this is a small price to pay for the excellent job that it does.

Incredible window washing robot!
Some of my windows are 2 and 3 stories above ground making window washing dangerous. I bought this during Prime days and got a great deal. My husband thought I was nuts until he saw it work, now I’m a genius. We can actually see out our windows and it’s a beautiful sight. I’ve shared the video with friends and they are amazed. I highly recommend this window bot. It’s not perfect and can be a little slow but it will cover every inch and come back to where it started. It comes with plenty of fresh cloths for replacing when they get dirty and replacement is easy. Suction is amazing, mine has never lost suction. Cost versus having someone come and wash my windows is a net savings of over $500.00.

Doesn’t clean very well.
For starters, I thought this was cordless and it’s not. It’s loud. It cleans, but basically just knocks top layer off. My windows were fairly clean to being with and they did look better than to begin with, but not a great job and not to my standards. I do not recommend at all and waited too long to try to return. What a waste of money.

Still Work In Progress
So this cleaner does have spinning pads that go across your window. It comes with a remote, but also connects to your phone with an app. The robot itself doesn't have any way to apply cleaner. An empty spray bottle comes in the box, and it says liquids can't be shipped back from China. OK but they could at least give you a cleaner formula to make. Instructions tell you to spray one or two squirts of "cleaner" on the bottom pad. I can tell you for a big window, one or two squirts does nothing. Wet it too much and the robot doesn't move. So you basically have to keep the pads dry, but wet the window. Works OK, not great. It can smear a-lot, and your windows need to be pretty clean before starting, but if they are, why use this robot to clean them? I'd call it better than nothing, but not great.

The machine is fantastic…
TL;DR: Got this machine to help out my parents around their house. And (so far) am extremely pleased! Longer version: Parents are getting on in age and I didn’t think they needed to be on ladders, or what not, to clean the windows/doors. Got this to help them out. Found the window suctioning to be quite impressive. Especially considering it is powered by what amounts to be a laptop charger. Can’t speak (just yet) about the smartphone app functionality as it works just fine with its remote. Only real issue I had was using the tether as it became a bit too cumbersome trying to position a hook and keep the cord from wrapping around the device itself so eventually took a risk and used without. Did take extra care to prep the floor with cushions in case of loss of power for whatever reason but do plan to find a better tethering solution. Otherwise, extremely pleased and at that price, I think it’s worth its weight in gold considering the safety aspect.

If you have high windows
On the first hand I would say it doesn't clean as a human would that is why the 4 star on the other hand it does help clean high windows and high frequency if you have kids (smears a little as it goes) so if you have a hard to reach windows or have very little time to clean I would recommend getting this thing. It is noisey as much as a normal vacuum would.

Stopped moving up the window after the third wash
I don't know what the problem is, but after the third wash, the window cleaner has no power to hold onto the glass and not enough power to go up.
