Velux Active System a WIP
It is hard to leave a review about the Velux Active System as the app store says you have to own it to review it, yes I own it but the app does not know that. So I'll leave a review of the Velux Acitve network enabled system here. The software is marginal at best. Velux should hire a few UI specialists. Simple things like the lock icon is reversed where the icon displays a locked padlock it is actually unlocked and when the padlock looks like it is unlocked it is actually locked. I guess they want you do know what will happen next if you click the icon, that the current state that it is in, which is counter intuitive to most people. THat is just the start. Every aspect of using the app is overly complicated, not very intuitive, and does not explain how it will work. For instance you can set an automation for a range of temperature, say 75-85 degrees. Will the skylight open within that range, open when it is outside that temperature range? Velux states that it gets local weather over the internet to help manage when the skylights open and close but the app does not display that weather information anywhere. So if it is 90 degrees outside yet inside it is 75 degrees, will the skylight open or stay shut to avoid heating up the house? It is all a guessing game and the app won't help you figure it out. Velux has a long ways to got to fix the UI of Velux Active. The potential is there for it to be a great system, but I'm holding my breath to see if they'll get their act together and figure out how to make the appeasier to understand and more intuitive to use.

Great replacement controller
Was trying to find one of these for a long time, got it and it worked great to replace my lost controller. (Yes, I should have mounted it to the wall rather than using it as a portable device.) Arrived quickly and with all instructions. Easy to setup.
