Q: corroded bolt thread will this help clean it so the bolt can be insert?

Yes it will but from my backround in machine shop let me offer this advoce in addition-no charge. Get the bolt shiny with a wire brush steel wool or other but don't grind the threads. Find a die the same thread size oil the bolt.Then spin the die up and down several times with WD 40 to clear the thread swarths. Then do the same with a same size tap into the hole the bold will go back to. WD -40 all the pieces and try to rethread them together. Undo and let both soak in small amt of WD-40. Repeat and secure with proper torque. Cover the area exposed with a water repellent sealer appreciated to the use. Good luck. I use the spray with the snozzle on garage door runners hinges and chainsaw under push mower. Good luck RS
