Whats not to like about a Buck
Took this on a 2 month trip to Africa. Wanted a quality folder that would also make a good gift at the end of the trip. Filled the bill nicely.

Very nice knife, sharpe, simple
Love these cheaper work horse buck knives. This is bigger but slimmer the the one it replaced and being slimmer it is more comfortable to carry. Blade is hard i haven't had to sharpen it yet but im nice to my blades and don't try to cut wire with them either, there is another tool for that

Good American made choice for those on a budget
I've had this knife for about 4 months now, so I can definitively say that for the TLDR of my review, at the ~$30 USD price tag for an American made folding knife, you get what you pay for and that there's not really much to complain about in terms of what you are getting. Its a sturdy lockback with no liners, so the action is never going to be as smooth or as fast opening as something with washers or bearings, but with an occasional drop of oil in the pivot it'll still be reasonably quick to open. It will never be quite on the level of something like an Ontario Rat II or a SOG Terminus XR, but it'll still be pretty reasonable easy and quick to open as long as you put a drop in the pivot once or twice a month to keep it lubricated. As for the nylon handles themselves, they're actually pretty darn sturdy, so no need to worry if you're having reservations towards the handles being made of plastic. They have a nice texture to them, not at all what I'd consider to be "aggressive" but with the texturing and the checkering Buck has done with the handles, I doubt anyone would lose their grip unless they sprayed WD-40 on their hands. Also, just as a word of caution for those who like to take their knives apart and customize them, everything on this knife except the pocket clip is pinned/riveted into place, so there's no taking this apart without specialized tools/equipment, and even if you do succeed, taking apart a Buck knife may void the warranty. Their warranty service is pretty darn good though, so I have no doubt that if something happens to be wonky with yours that they will take care of you.The pocket clip is very functional and is able to be unscrewed and swapped for either left or right handed carry, but its gaudy aesthetic may be a detractor to some. Personally I'm neutral, but you may want to take that into consideration if that bothers you. As for the blade, mine arrived perfectly centered from the box and their legendary Bos heat-treat lives up to its reputation amongst knife enthusiasts as I have yet to have to do anything beyond routine touchups.Overall it's a very solid buy, and especially so for the ~$30 price point in a day and age where Chinese and Taiwanese made knives have dominated the budget friendly market and many American knifemakers ignore the budget market in favor of more lavish and premium models oriented at enthusiasts than hardworking people who just want a well made product without spending extra on premium features they don't need or want. Good to see Buck is filling that niche quite nicely.

My new daily knife. Quality knife at an affordable price.
I needed a replacement knife and found online that this was a US- made knife that was actually affordable for daily use. I couldn't be happier with the quality. I liked it so much, I bought a larger version as a gift. Great knife.

Great budget USA-made knife!
I really like this knife, I wanted a USA-made everyday carry knife that wasn't too pricey and this fit the bill perfectly! The size and ergonomics of this are very good. The thinner nylon scales plus their signature shape make it easy to grip comfortably and securely. This knife carries extremely well in the pocket, I LOVE that they gave it a deep-carry clip (and a solid one, not a wire clip), plus it's reversible for all you lefties! It's easy for me to open one handed, but people with small hands who have tried it have a little trouble. To close, because of the lockback design I usually turn the knife around in my hand, push the lock, and fold the blade against my thigh to close it (or use both hands). I don't mind it, but it's not as "fidgetable" as a liner/frame-lock knife. The factory edge was sharp but not super evenly ground or smooth, so good but not exceptional imo. I really do like the blade design and material, it's thin and takes and holds an edge very well. I use it regularly to cut packaging and break down cardboard boxes and it doesn't dull quickly.Build quality is also good, keeping in mind the price point and the fact that it's made in USA. The blade lock is very secure, they perfected the lockback a long time ago. I notice a little lateral blade movement when it's open but not enough to be concerned about, and it's tighter than some pricier import knives I've had or held. The riveted construction could be seen as a potential issue, but not imo - Buck has been riveting knives forever and they do last. I have a Buck 55 I've abused, and my dad has a 110 that's way older than me (I'm 33). You just won't be able to swap scales or make adjustments.I really like the look of this knife, and everyone who's seen it likes it. The classic design in the slimmer profile with nylon scales looks really good, I do think they should make more colors though. I love this knife so much my dad's getting one in orange for Christmas!
