Lots of drama, but no one gets hurt!
First of all, I just want to say that this is a teeny plot spoiler.... nobody gets bashed, beat up, hurt, ... well, we don't know about the creeps who chased them in the truck (you have to read it know what I refer to.) But I loved this book for all the excellent head and heart drama, but no beating, hurting, black eyes, etc. Just lots of bruised feelings that all get worked out in the end.I loved this whole trilogy and will read it again. The way that each character loses or ruins something is humorous and a subtle message that we are all human. It was also fun to read because I've been to so many of the places they visited on their trip and I sweetly remember getting up before dawn to see the sunrise over Grand Canyon, though it was with my sister, not my lover. The Parthenon in Nashville, Grand Ol' Opry, LA, many truck stops along the road.....I just wish Mr. Sanchez would continue with a sequel. The guys are seniors in college, now, and filled with angst about getting jobs. Please, Mr. Sanchez!

I’m exhausted
What a road trip. I could relate to Jason the most as he dealt with annoying Nelson. But by the end, like Jason, I’ll miss getting bothered by Nelson. Great characters and the writing kept me turning the pages to see how this disaster ends. 3.75 for WWJD

This is by far the best gay-teen romantic book I have ever read
This is the third book and the last book of the series, and the writer had hidden such a great masterpiece for this last one. The feelings and emotions are genuine and vivid. You really can't miss the Rainbow series for the world. I am speaking as a gay (well, homoflexible) high schooler, and I am telling you that if you are afraid and curious, and somewhat hopeless romantic, pick up these 3 books and you will fall in love with Jason, Kyle and Nelson. I just love this book!

Loved it
I think this is my favorite out of the three. It had lots of action, lots of funny moments, and lots of happy moments. There was lots of conflict between Jason, Nelson and Keith. (Sorry, I kinda forgot his name for a second and wasn't sure how to spell it.) It was settled in the end. That part of the book was so heartwarming. I really loved the book!

Amazing writing style
This is such an eye opening series. Being gay myself and reading this it made me realize I went through a lot of the same things that these characters went through. Amazing writing style, and just an amazing writer!!! Definitely recommend!

Awesome book
I just finished reading Rainbow Road and found it very hard to put down. It showed how the 3 friends reacted to and with one another in somewhat closed place. I think it showed how true love with triumph between all of the characters. I think my favorite character was Kyle as he was the level headed one and pretty much kept the other two in line. I would recommend this Alex's other books for gay teens or any one to read.

Very well said
This is an awesome book, more and more youth should be reading this as there are situations like this everyday. Those that critisize or judge others hiding in the closet are those that should read this book to open their eyes and forgive those that are bi, lesbian, or gay. Its not a matter of choice they made but who they are.

UGH!!!
Won't buy another of this gentleman's books. Really for a younger crowd. Out dated information. I think the "why am I gay?" type of story has left the station and gone over the cliff. This guy really needs to get into this generation, the 80's mentality is gone ( thank God) it's new now...more accepting and I can not read or listen to a bunch of whiny gay guys. The school jock who can't come out because of his "jock" status UGH!!! Done to death dude. The queen who keeps getting the stuffing knocked out of him...the purple hair might have something to do with that. This type of story has been done to death. Write something else...PLEASE.

A beautiful sunset
I was aware that originally there were only meant to be two books, and so was understandably curious to see how the third would turn out. Originally I was worried that there would be a "tacked on" feel to it, but the slower format mentioned by Ian helped us to focus on the relationship of the three gay teenagers in microcosm.Sanchez' solution to "third book syndrome" is to have fun, which is an admirable choice to make, and one which is sadly a rarity in novelists. He uses spare material from the first two novels concerning difficult matters such as homophobic bullying and evangelical Christianity, and ties them into resolutions and actions made by his characters. This may sound pretty stock-in-trade, but he manages to carry out this task with such a lightness of touch as to create a feeling of real fulfillment for the reader. The only minor criticism I had was the resolution of Nelson's boyfriend situation, which sounded slightly rushed and artificial towards the end of the book. However, this is a very minor point bearing in mind the strength of the novel as a whole.Ultimately this book is incredibly important for LGBT people of whatever persuasion, and particularly younger readers, as many narratives concentrate solely on the process of gaining partners, rather than the much more tricky task of actually keeping them and maintaining a healthy and loving relationship. The conclusion, which I will leave other readers to discover, is suffifiently satisfying to leave a smile on your face, but leaves the imagination refreshingly open for future adventures! All in all, this is the best book of it's genre I have read since the turn of this century.

Thank you alex
This book was a fitting good bye to Nelson, Jason and Kyle. As I have got to know and adore these characters I will miss them sorely. Towards the end of the book I was wanting to cry with them. Fitting end to the story as they all start their separate life's with each other and without.I am so glad Nelson found something in this book.God bless and thanks.
