If i need them shorter, could one cut them? do i need to splice and tape the ends? or would that render them useless?

Well my husband without my knowledge cut some and they still work .. I was so mad bc I bought them but to answer your question ours still work

Are these tangled out of the box

No they wasn’t I check to see if anything was busted or etc but it look in good condition just didn’t turn on I did try other outlets but still no lights
