POHL SCHMITT Electric Can Opener, Easy Push Down Lever, Knife Sharpener, Bottle Opener & Built-In Cord Storage, Opens All Standard-Size and Pop-Top Cans

I am writing this review close to a year since we bought it. We didn't use it often, so it was alarming when we brought it out of the cupboard to use that the motor gave off a horrendous sound and the machine refused to work. Fortunately we had bought it through Amazon so had a "receipt" and determined that we were within the one-year warranty. I contacted Pohl Schmitt and within a day received a reply that a replacement can opener was being shipped to us! Everything was handled so smoothly and graciously. Hats off o Pohl Schimitt! I should also mention that the can opener when it was working worked well. I especially like that there is a convenient place in the back of the unit to store the cord so there are no dangling cords to deal with when it is sitting idle.

I like and dislike this can opener. I like how easy it is to operate. I don’t like the end result of the lids. VERY sharp and jagged. Bottle opener is good. The knife sharpener.. Usless! It’s not electronic and it don’t sharpen at all. I put a knife and moved it back and forth as suggested and it nothing but cut my can opener body. There is a white plastic tab of some sort and I don’t know if it should come off or not. If it stays on you are trying to sharpen a knife with plastic. No instructions as to this tab. Update changed my review to 1 star. This thing stopped opening cans midway and makes a grinding noise. I have to stop, wait and try it again to open a can. I wish I could return it.

This can opener does more than open cans... it also opens bottles too. It is also a knife sharpener in the back as well. The knife sharpener is not electric nor is the bottle opener... but it’s nice to have those on it as it’s a space saving item. I don’t have any bottles to open yet but I do have some knives to sharpen, so having that saves time looking for a separate unit. I like how the cord conveniently goes in the back of the unit where it’s out of the way. Unlike my old can opener, the blade on this one is removeable, so i can wash it as needed. That’s a plus! I would definitely get it again if needed!

*update* After leaving a 1 star review on my last rating, customer service contacted me and offered a full refund. They offered to refund via credit card purchased or Amazon gift card. Customer service was very polite, which is why I changed my rating to 4 stars. This is by far the worst automatic can opener I've ever used. Prior to this I purchased a cheap can opener from Walmart and had it for about 15 years. The blade on the old one started to dull so we purchased this one. This can opener is so weak it will not cut open a regular can without stalling and stopping. I have to continuously take the can off and reposition it. I haven't even tried a large can, but I can guarantee I'd have to resort to my manual can opener to open one of those. Extremely disappointed and if I could give 0 stars I would. Also, just to note. I've only had this can opener for a month.

Been looking for an electric can opener for awhile and this one covers all the bases. It's easy to use, easy to clean, and it even opens my beers! If you're looking for an affordable can opener this is the one to get. Edit 5 star to 1 star: This hasn't been working for over a month. It doesn't grab onto cans and won't open them anymore. Spend your money on a normal can opener because this one is not worth it.

Easy to use. The lid is jagged when removed so be careful as you should with any can opener. I have had others that are a little smoother to use but this works great for my needs. *Update-2/25/2021 This opener has been making loud noises for a while now. It sounds sick or like gears are grinding. If it is doing this after owning it a short while, I would no longer recommend this product. Mine is still opening cans but very loudly. The cans open and the top of the lid that it removes is very jagged. I am always scared I will cut myself. Sadly I will be looking for a new can opener...again. **Update-1/7/2022 I have now thrown away this can opener as it not longer works. Sad it did not last long and many can openers on Amazon seem to have similar issue with how long they last and poor reviews.

Really liking this Electric can opener. I was actually very surprised at all of the additional features that it came with including the knife sharpener and the bottle opener. I’ve test all three functions and they each worked without any issue. I like that the cord stores internally so that when I’m not using the piece it keeps my kitchen counter uncluttered. I have a brand new knife set so its hard to tell if the knife sharpener actually made any difference but I used the paper test and it did fine after sharpening. Let me mention again how happy I am that it came with a bottle opener! No more having to shuffle through the drawers trying to find one!

I really love it its easy to use and you dont havto use your hands, we make big batch of Chilli so this is waybetter then using a hand can opener.

Malheureusement le produit est défectueux et les frais de retour trop dispendieux pour la valeur du produit alors j’absorbe la perte.

Works well. Sure beats a handheld. :)

Does not wrk at all. Terrible grinding noise when using. So loud. Never again. Worst purchase ever.
