Patty Duke, as a grown woman, later plays the teacher and Melissa Gilbert plays Helen.

Hellen Keller's remarkable brief account of her life up through her college years at Radclifff shows her overcoming her handicaps of blindness and deafness. The text shines with warmth and intelligence and honesty. A great introduction.

Brought me to tears every read, but not sad tears, just grateful for the existence of such a person...

It's a very good read.

Assigning one star to get attention and hopefully get some feedback. The copy I received has the ISBN number and " All rights reserved. Copy right 2015" (yes, "Copy right") in the front but nothing else -- no dedication, no publisher name, etc. Under the copyright, it says:"No part of this may be reproduced or transmitted in any form.... [etc.] This book is a work of fiction and any resemblance to any person, living or dead, any place, events or occurrences, is purely coincidental. The characters and story lines are created from the author's imagination or are used fictitiously." ???I'd be grateful if a reviewer would come along and let me know what it means. I was happily reading the book until I stumbled on that. If it really is an autobiography, it's quite amazing that Helen Keller could write the way she did.
