Ruffwear, Flagline Dog Harness, Lightweight and Reflective, No Pull Dog Lift Harness for Hiking, Running and Everyday Use, Meltwater Teal, Large/X-Large

I have a reactive large dog with a physique similar to a grey hound. - fit: the only harness I’ve found that can fit her weird physique, the only one I could adjust to her neck, chest and waist. Easily adjustable to accommodate winter gear as well. - security: there is NO WAY she can escape this thing once adjusted properly - comfort: it seems very comfortable, she wears it on road trips and doesn’t seem to realize it’s on her. She doesn’t get bruises even when over threshold and lunging wildly. It doesn’t restrict her joints - high quality: has held up to a year of LOTS of lunging, running through grass, jumping in mud, cold, heat, you name it. - lightweight: strong but light as a feather, air dries in a couple hours, with no staining I must add. - force free: it has no martingales or aversive features and has enabled the best results with training - the colors are so cute, I get compliments all the time. Love this harness and will purchase from this brand in the future. Great product, thoughtfully engineered by people who clearly love and understand the needs of dogs and their guardians.

I was having a difficult time finding just the right combination of features for supporting my elder Bichon mix on his walks and for his weakening legs. I’d been leading him by his collar, which was fine when he was strong and cognitively healthy, but recurring strokes have messed with his body and his mind. He needs to be guided more, he’s unsteady on his legs and he’s begun to fall back on his own poop when squatting and sometimes even falls over from that position. I wanted a harness that wouldn’t be too bulky or heavy, allowed me to lead him without undo tugging on his head and legs, and that allowed me to exert upward lift when he squats. This harness is lightweight, well-made of durable fabric, and superbly engineered to offer several means of support. Because he is unsteady and often sits stubbornly when I try to put anything on him, the fact that the yoke of this harness goes right over his head and then can be hooked up via the quick-release straps on the sides makes it really easy to get it on and off him. I also especially like the main leash ring located more centrally over the back as opposed to the shoulder area because it doesn’t cause as much pulling at his front legs as most other harnesses do. There are also other attachments. I haven’t used the chest loop yet and not sure why that might be desirable, but it’s there. There is also a loop at the back of the harness that may come in handy for adding a lift strap as his squat instability worsens with age. Then there’s the very cool handle in the middle of the harness which enables me to give a quick assist getting up and down steps and curbs and could also be used for additional lift in the squats. And, there are handy little strap keeper pockets sewn in so the excess strapping (if you have it after fitting) does not flap around or need to be cut off -- now that’s class! My only complaint, and it’s hardly that, is that the fit could be a bit better. I bought the XS which is as small as this harness comes and it’s still a bit loose in the yoke fully adjusted. But hey, it’s an “off-the-rack” product and short of engaging a doggy tailor, I don’t think you could ask for better adjustability than this harness offers. Lightweight and comfortable, check. Quality materials and construction, check. Multiple well-thought-out support options, check. And let’s not forget the lovely teal color! My little guy and I are very happy with this harness.

I got this harness (I would've preferred going to the store, but didn't have a location near enough to get to quickly enough, so Prime it is) for my APBT before we went to the Canine Oneworld Obstacle race. I saw it suggested in comments talking about harnesses for their dogs. I have a lot of Ruffwear gear, so I knew the brand quality would be good. She had freedom of movement (the most important feature), the ripstop was very light weight but still strong and durable, the handle was amazing (a handle was one of my requirements), and all of the attachment points were easy to use. I like how long the harness was so that picking her up would be more comfortable for the both of us, but the length didn't impede her in any way. Also, it was a really pretty color to go along with my dog 😁

UPDATE: I bought this in May 2023 and as of Jan 2026 it still looks new. I’ve had zero quality issues and she wears this everyday all day except at bedtime. I cannot stress enough how much easier and comfortable life became for a large senior dog with mobility issues and her owner 🥲 I have ordered so many slings, lifts, and harnesses but nothing fit correctly or went back far enough to work for us. I felt pretty good about ordering this one despite the price based on the reviews and I’m familiar with and really like the brand. It’s perfect. One of mine has weakness and numbness in her back legs from an old spinal cord injury and ACL tear. As she’s gotten older the weakness has become worse to where she needs someone to lift her backend from sitting or lying down and potty breaks and help walking to keep her balance. She’s 75lbs with a broad chest and smaller waist and backend due to loss of muscle mass. The L/XL fits her perfectly after adjusting and still has room to be made smaller and much larger. In my experience this brand always has quality products, all 4 of mine have Ruffwear collars that I purchased well over 5 years ago and they still look new. The harness is great quality, sturdy but not bulky or clunky so She’s able to wear it all the time without discomfort or chafing. I do leave the straps loose so they do not cause pressure when she’s lying down. The chest pad is in the perfect position to give equal support to her front and backend while lifting and the pads on the straps under the chest and hips are well placed and do not dig in or cause discomfort. I would have paid double the price for this harness. It has eliminated so much distress on my end and given her more freedom.

Assolutamente fantastica. Vale tutto quello che costa. Resistente, leggerissima, sicura (non si sfila in nessun modo). Presa per la mia cucciola di 9 mesi con un passato difficile, mai stata al guinzaglio e spaventata da tutto. Cercavo una pettorina che non fosse ingombrante per lei, dato che non è abituata, ma che fosse anche antifuga e antipanico. Questa è perfetta. Leggera, facile da mettere, facile da regolare. La maniglia sulla schiena permette di fermare il cane quando è necessario. Ha aggancio del guinzaglio sia sulla schiena che sul petto per abituare a non tirare. Facile da pulire. Insomma costa parecchio ma per me vale ogni euro

I’ve bought every harness under the sun for my golden retriever, from cheap, mid range and expensive . This one has been the best so far. The length of the harness is perfect for her long torso and doesn’t slip like other harness’s do. It is very lightweight so she can wear it for longer without irritation. Other harness’s would make her sweat and itch and this one seems to be less of a problem for her. It’s really easy to fold up and pop in my pocket if I need to take it off during a walk and also washes and dries really well. The adjustable straps are very easy to adjust when the harness is on too which is a bonus, I’ve always found that tricky with other harness’s. I only use this harness to attach the long line so can’t comment on whether it helps with pulling. There is an extra point to connect the lead at the very back which I find really handy as the long line doesn’t get tangled as easily when she plays. The handle is a great feature too, helps me get some control easily if needed and also helps me get her in and out of the car easier. The length of the harness just feels overall more supportive for everything we need. I’d say this appears to be pretty escape proof because the fit is perfect. The photos show the top and underneath of the harness. It’s expensive but worth the extra cost I feel for all the extra features that other harness’s just don’t have.

excelente agarre al perro por 4 puntos, eso evita que al tirar hacia detrás el perro se lo pueda quitar dándote tiempo a reaccionar, nuestro perro se los quitaba dándose la vuelta y tirando hacia detrás, con este conseguimos quitar esa manía . Actualmente llevamos usando este arnés desde hace 3 años.
