Fits "like a glove" in our new Air Filter Grille...
Our home is OLD, built in 1958, & as we all know old homes are never standard size anything! We just replaced our old and bent up wall Air Filter Grille. In specific, we purchased a 24" x 14" Steel Return Air Filter Grille for 1" Filter-Removable Face/Door - HVAC DUCT COVER (white), w/OUTER size dimensions (that goes on outside of walll) of 26.5"w x 16.5.h We also purchased that on Amazon. This filter is absolutely the perfect fitting for this grille. To install filter inside the grill, without bending as some reviews complain of, all you have to do is gently tap on the inside little metal things w/a small hammer (don't know what it's called) that get in the way of installing the filter (located on both the top and bottom of where filter gets installed in it's designated slot). If you tap with a hammer gently first to push down those metal things (without totally smashing), this filter will then easily insert in without jamming the filter, causing it to bend. We had to jury-rig our new intake grate this filter fits into to cover up every speck of wall opening from the original dummy that installed the old grate in '58. We framed our existing opening with wood then painted it white to match, then neatly caulked the outside wood frame on the wall. Now it looks great and this filter is custom made for this. I like the filter's 1900 rating. If you are sensitive to dust, etc, then getting this filter is a must! It's good for up to 3 months, however, should the filter become dark, it's not that the filter is bad but it is because the air quality in your home is terrible. We will check filter in 1 month and see what kind of job it is doing. I just installed this and will update my review. I'm probably going to change it every 6 wks for the first few changings to help get the nasty air trapped then after that I'll change it every 2-3 months, depending on how dirty it gets. Once it gets dirty enough to see grey/light dirt, that's when my allergies and dry nose & eyes acts up. I purchased the 2-pack of filters. Those whom complain that the 2nd (or additional) filters are unwrapped, well, I found the very simple solution is to simply to place the unused filter in a clean trash bag for the next filter-change and it remains dust-free. just re-use that same trash bag for the next back-up filter order that is re-ordered on Amazon. Not a hassle or problem at all. You will have better luck getting the exact filter you need on Amazon than most other stores. At least in my area of Reno, NV.

It’s filter. It does what it’s supposed to do.
As long as you measured correctly, you’re ok.

I tested the pressure drop and air quality
Update: After using the filter for 4 months, one month longer than recommended, there was no loss in airflow through the vents. I've been really positively impressed by this filter.I very recently put in a new Filtrete MERV 5 into my system, I measured the airflow in m/s at several points using my anemometer. At the intake, at 4 points, it measured (3.1 + 3.0 + 2.0 + 2.0)/4 = 2.5 m/s average (it was 3.6 m/s with no filter at all) at the furthest vent it was 2.6 m/s and at the closest vent it was 3.1 m/s.After I replaced that filter with the MERV 13 filter the readings (at the same spots on the intake vent) went to (2.8 + 2.6 + 2.3 + 2.3)/4 = 2.5 m/s or no change. At the furthest vent it was 2.6 and at the closest vent it was 3.1, no change at all.For me this is enough evidence that the filter is not in any way restricting the airflow. The average intake air speed is the same and the output at the same spots on the two output vents I checked are the same.I also checked the fine particles in my home using my Dylos air quality monitor. It was reading 123 PM 2.5 per cu/ft prior to installing the new filter. After about 3 hours it was down to 40 PM 2.5 per cu/ft. That’s pretty impressive performance.I’ll be keeping an eye on my air flow to see if it suffers. The filter is supposed to last 3 months but I have my doubts it will last that long. If anything goes amiss I'll update this review.

Easy to use
These filters are easy to use. They hold up the 3 months till we need to change. We have noticed a big difference in quality in our air in the house. The price runs about the same maybe a little cheaper then going to Walmart but love that we can add it to our subscriptions and receive them every 3 months and now we don't forget to change them out.

2-3 month filtering
These filters are used in both of my HVAC systems. They do an overall good job of filtering the air. I do have one downside to them. Once they begin to collect dust (usually around month 2), I find that my upstairs HVAC unit becomes very loud when it kicks on. I generally need to change that filter every 2-3 months, however, my bottom unit can easily go 3-4 months with no issues.
