Reliable High-Capacity Drive – Perfect for My Media Server
The Seagate IronWolf 10TB NAS Internal Hard Drive (ST10000VN0008) has been a fantastic upgrade for my media server. With 10TB of storage, I finally have room to organize movies, music, and backups all in one place. The drive is designed for NAS and RAID use, and it shows — performance is fast and consistent, even when streaming multiple files across devices at once. I also like that it runs quietly and stays cool, even after extended use. The 7200 RPM speed and 256MB cache make a noticeable difference in read/write performance. Plus, it comes with Seagate’s Rescue Service, which adds peace of mind in case anything ever goes wrong. ✅ Pros: Massive 10TB capacity — great for media servers and backups NAS-optimized for 24/7 operation in RAID setups Fast performance with 7200 RPM and 256MB cache Runs quietly and efficiently Includes Rescue Data Recovery Service ❌ Cons: Pricier than standard desktop drives (but worth it for reliability) Needs a system with good airflow to keep temps stable under heavy loads 💡 Tips: Perfect for Plex or media servers with large libraries. Use in a RAID setup for redundancy and peace of mind. Keep firmware up to date for best performance and reliability. Monitor temps with NAS tools to ensure longevity. Bottom Line: The Seagate IronWolf 10TB is an excellent choice for anyone building or expanding a media server or NAS. It’s reliable, quiet, and fast, with plenty of capacity for large libraries. Worth every penny for long-term performance and peace of mind.

Excellent Upgrade for Synology DS220+
Before install performed test. Drives pushing 220MBs + consistently with burst going even higher. Just holding my old drive (WD Blue 6TG) with the IronWolf wow. What a beefy drive. Just looking at it, it's evident that the drive is built for 24/7 operation. My NAS setup as RAID 0 (20TB Total) and speeds are great. R/W 220MBs. Have a QNAP TR-004 as my ext USB. This I have set as RAID 5 ( disk striping with parity). Get the benefits of RAID 0 throughput with a parity drive for redundancy. BTW, these drives DO NOT add an IronWolf TAB in Storage Manager. Really no need. The drive is fully compatible with the DS220+. I verified this. The IronWolf option really did nothing more then the Synology options offer. The drive is NAS aware and knows it. The integrated IronWolf Health Management system will still do it's job. Enjoy these drives. Costly but lost data before and would have paid double just to get my data back. Have fun

Works great!
Using this in a Synology NAS and it was the 3rd addition to my 4 bay nas. Absolutely plug and play and still running perfectly.

Exactly what I needed
I wanted a ton of storage, so I bought 6 of the 10 TB model to put in a RAID 6. If anyone is curious what the actual amount of capacity is, they are all 9.10 TB as I knew it wasn't going to be a full 10 TB due to the way these are seen by the operating system in base 2 and the way hard drive manufacturers advertise in base 10. 9.10 TB is what I happen to have on my drives so you don't have to do any math or estimate. I hope this is helpful to anyone out there. I had them for a couple weeks now and they are great so far. All 6 worked out of the box without any issues. Many people on here are complaining about there not being a warranty on these, I am not sure want the heck they are talking about unless they are buying them used or there's was a problem in the past, but all 6 of my drives have a 3 year warranty on them. I looked up all 6 serial numbers and they all show they have a warranty as shown in the picture of one of my drives. Amazon or manufacturer, however they manage their back stock, was even nice enough to send drives that mostly had different dates, a couple being months apart on them too. This is great if there happen to be a defect with a batch of hard drives made on one date, they are less likely to fail all at one time or at least days or hours apart. There is nothing bad I can say about these drives. I am extremely satisfied with these. They do what I need them to.

Works great
Bought this because I didn't want to keep deleting and redownloading video games when my friends wanted to play niche games we don't touch all that often. I keep the more recent intense games and VR games on an SSD, and didn't want to shell out for a large SSD hard drive. This hard drive is perfect for games as its quick, affordable, and frees up my SSD for more intense games.

Hard Drive Does Not Work - 10tb sold by amazon
I've used iron wolf's across the board, when budget allows, and this is the first issue I've had with them.... looking at other reviews I find similar results. The drive was sold by amazon, I checked the serial number on seagates website and I didn't find any info stating it was a refurb, however, testing it in my docking station all that happened was a beeping noise that I've never encountered.... I'm very surprised and disappointed that amazon would be selling faulty products, and even if they are refurb hard drives not identifying them as so. I recently picked up a 12tb PRO refurb model from eBay and it fired up with no issues and seems to work great... glad I didn't try to stick this in my Synology NAS system without testing it first. I thought it could possibly not be getting enough power in the docking station so I tried out my 12TB drive in the docking station and without fault it fired right up. Not sure if ill give buying this product on amazon another shot, at least trying a different seller, but I would say if you're able to buy your IronWolf drives elsewhere.

Seems like a great NAS drive - makes funny noises sometimes
I bought these to upgrade a QNAP TS-251+ NAS, replacing 2x 3TB drives. Drive replacement procedure was very easy, though you have to do a bit of digging through the QNAP software to find the right comand. The drives are fast and efficient, and show no problems so far. The one odd thing is that they are a bit noisy when in use, with audible buzzing and beeping sounds as the heads move. This can be a bit strange when the NAS is running some of its background processes.

Use it for more than a year, and it is good storage. Read and load pretty fast too.
