Anyone else: 6 months later seeing continual Win10 disk error and going off-line

I have had a similar problem with a Lacie 4TB drive. Lacie is the premium brand of Seagate technology. The cosmetics are nice but the internals are more or less universal. The external drive market is a minefield and you can be lucky and get a drive that never faulters or otherwise. Obviously, you need to be able to rely on it. If it was new, you should have a year guarantee, so you may get a repair, exchange or money back. Write to the seller. The only make of external drive that has never let mo down in 20 years or more is WD (Western Digital). Whilst they have a perfect track record with me, it doesn't mean they are necessarily perfect. Is anyone else experiencing connectivity issues due to sensitive cable? slightest movement of the ssd disconnects it from my laptop

I have not experienced this. I have just connected my drive to a MacBook Pro and I can move it about, flexing the cable, without any disconnects. Have you tried a different cable and connecting it to a different port on the computer? If the problem persists through these tests then maybe there is a problem in the drive's port.

Is this good for music production ?

I use it for online back-up, so I don’t know directly about music production but it works fine for me.
