I can't "weight" to step on this scale everyday!
We have had a digital scale for the past 5 years and it requires first placing a foot on it to turn it on, then removing your foot and then stepping on the scale and waiting a brief period for a read-out showing your weight. It was accurate, but since I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, doing this routine of tapping on the scale and then stepping on it and holding still trying to maintain my balance was tricky. Our new Borg has made things easier for both of us. I simply stand on the Borg and I get nearly an instantaneous readout of my weight, without having to stand on a small spot with worrying about loosing my balance.Although I must admit, the numbers on the Borg are a tad difficult for me to see because they are very small (might be partly due to my bifocals) it takes me a moment to see where the dial has honed in for my weight. This probably won't be an issue for someone having good eyesight, but I thought I'd just toss this in for Baby Boomers like me who don't have the sharp vision we might have had when we were younger. The Borg is attractive and makes a small foot-print in my bathroom. I looked at other scales that looked like they were the size of a pingpong table and decided to go with the Borg because it looked like the perfect size and would not cover a lot of floor space.I'm happy with the purchase and so is my wife.

Nice scale
I just wanted a simple scale that didn't require batteries and was accurate to within a pound or two. This Borg scale is sturdier-feeling and classier looking than your entry-level/basic scale. The layout of the scale makes it easy to stand in a spot that will give you an accurate and consistent measure. It has a solid feel, and I'm very happy with it. I was a little worried about the numbers being too small, but I had no trouble reading the smaller numbers.I wasn't sure what the silver top of the scale would be made out of - it looks a little like stainless steel, but it is a nice thick matte-finish silver plastic (which to me is better, because it won't be cold like metal would be). The overall look of the scale is great. It will look classy with any decor. In sum - With its nice size, consistent measurements, modern but classic look, and smooth-rolling, sturdy dial, I actually enjoy standing on this scale.Packaging note: Came nicely packaged in its own full-color printed box (with a nice picture of the scale on the front) with little cardboard inserts to keep the scale centered in the box, and safe from damage. This is a plus if you move every few years and want packaging to keep your scale safe, or if someone has asked you for a scale as a gift.

Does What It's Supposed to Do--Great Little Scale!
I received the item well packed and in perfect condition. It has a retro look and reminds me of scales from another era although it fits in well with modern decor. It works as expected and is VERY easy to zero with the dial adjustment. It is accurate as compared to my doctor's scale--right on the money! I was tired of replacing batteries in my digital scale and so when that one died I went for this instead. Overall I'm very pleased with it. Simple, easy to use and accurate! The only reason it's not 5 stars for me is that it can be difficult to see the exact number--but someone with perfect vision could probably see it really well :-)

Accurate but....
I use this scale every morning to monitor my weight. I thought that using a non digital scale would be more convenient and no batteries required would be an advantage. After researching several options, I bought this scale. Simply put, the scale is accurate and has numbers that are large enough to read. However, I find that I need to reset the scale EVERY DAY before using. In order to reset the scale you need to lay it flat, and turn the wheel to zero. This can be a pain when you just want to get your current weight before jumping in the shower.

Works like a charm
I had intended to get a fancy scale with all the bells and whistles, and then I realized I'm never going to use the features I'd be paying extra for. I'm not that ambitious, and probably neither are you. I just want to know what I weigh and whether that number is coming down, going up, or holding steady.Enter the Borg BAB901KD-95 Dial Scale. It tells you how hard the earth is dragging you down, and therefore in the abstract, how much you weigh at any given moment. Take it to the moon, and you're outta luck. Use it on earth and you should be alright.I settled on this one because:A) no batteries or wiringB) it won't be reduced to a useless pile of metal and plastic if it gets wetC) it accommodates everyone from small to large, as in 0 to 300+ poundsD) it looks like the detailing in a car from the 1950s, so bonus thereE) it feels heavy and sturdy, which is great for something you intend to stand on regularlyI am totally pleased with this product and highly recommend it to anyone seeking a corporeal weight measurement device.

Do they still make quality mechanical scales?
They don't make scales like they used to. In the 60s and 70s home scales were weighty, metal, and accurate. By the 90s they were still accurate, but half plastic. Now they are all plastic and suck. The digitals are horrendous, so I wanted an analog to replace my near 3 decade old scale, which replaced a 4 decade old scale. My old scale is accurate- I know because it syncs up with the scales at work and my dr's office, but it is old, scuzzy, and the dial glass is broken from my 20 lb cat always using it to jump up on my bathroom sink. YET IT IS ACCURATE! Tried 3 digitals from stores (where mechanicals are not even sold) so went to Amazon and tried to get a good one. No luck. This one is off by 10 or so lbs, and I weigh 175-180, depending on the time. Sometimes it lists me at 200+. It's rather cheap and plastic, but looks nice online. Let it rest and settle 24 hours, too, and 5 straight tests gave 5 diff weights. Also, I have tried to return it and Amazon itself (where I bought it) has an odd return policy of leaving an unmarked and wrapped package for UPS pickup w no receipt procedure. Oh well, shd get my refund, but still have to use a 1980s era scale.Does anyone know a co that sells good mechanical scales in the $30 range? Tech gets better but the basics get worse!

I have issues with weight loss and need a scale ...
I have issues with weight loss and need a scale that gives a reliable reading. I've tried several digital scales with no luck, this scale gives me consistent readings, so if I begin to lose weight I can notice it early...
