The Inspired Room: Simple Ideas to Love the Home You Have

My book arrived today and it did not dissapoint! This book is not only beautiful and made of high qaulity materials, it is definitely inspiring! It is well-written and offers so many examples on how to make your home your own and not some cookie cutter trendy house. The photographs of Melissa's personal space are beautiful. She offers many suggestions and examples to add texture, color, points of interest and most of all, how to create a space that reflects your own personal style. I read it from cover to cover as soon as it arrived and placed it with my other well-loved and often read decorating books. The cover of this book is stunning! It would look beautiful gracing the coffee table but I like to display my books in my beloved antique cabinet in my living room. Creating a space over time (not rushing things) really makes a space more personal.

I am changing my review from 3 to 5 stars because I LOVE it! I adore the The Inspired Room blog and Melissa Michaels first book, so I ordered this as gifts for the holidays. I didn't receive quite the wow factor I was hoping for, so I ordered it for myself to give a review based on my own opinion. The book arrived yesterday and I spent all last night reading it front to back. It was carefully written and with a lot of warmth and helpful/creative ideas that take years to learn! I loved the simple DIY's tucked here and there within it. The pages of decor are truly inspiring! I don't regret purchasing this as gifts over the holidays and decided to order another for a co-workers house warming gift!

This book has been so helpful and fun for me. I am someone who enjoys attempting to beautify my home but sometimes it just doesn't feel right and I can't figure out why. I loved this book because it offers some simple and basic design principles to help you arrange things you already have to make them look more beautiful. It also points out specific elements that make a room look good that an untrained eye like mine wouldn't have noticed. On top of all that, this book is encouraging because it helped me realize a beautiful home doesn't come together in one day and it doesn't have following all the trends to be beautiful.I gave this book to my mom for Christmas and it has inspired, encouraged, and given her the ideas she needed to refresh her living room in the way she has always wanted. If that's not a success, I don't know what is!

I hadn't realized this book came out 9 years ago. It didn't seem as current as design trends of today although, it has timeless information for execution of each person's individual design style.My book was damaged when I received it.

First of all this is a BEAUTIFUL book to browse through - the photographs are outstanding and beyond inviting. Go deeper and Melissa does not disappoint. Better than her blog, Melissa inspires and guides you to create a thoughtful personal home.I would certainly recommend this book to beginning homemakers. As well as more seasoned homeowners looking to refresh their home or tweak it by looking at each room with fresh eyes and embellishing what you have using Missa's fantabulous tips. She thoroughly explains her thought process behind each tip.Great book - this is a winner and would enhance any coffee table - just leave it out and browse through it when you're having one of those days when you need a pick me up for your home.Thank you Melissa !!!!!!!

Very nice coffee table book. Not my decorating style. I didn't feel like I could curl up and read a book anywhere in her house, yet that was her goal. I guess for someone with grown kids ( her son is pretty much grown] and no grandchildren in and out she should be able to keep her house looking pretty good. That ambience word again. Her paperback book "Love the Home You Have" doesn't have all the slick pictures but it has all the same info, maybe more and it is cheaper.

So delighted I bought this book. Melissa has a special way of making decorating ----- for which I have NO talent!--- a joy! It's a simple and enjoyable approach that no one has ever taught me. I've had several decorators come to my house, and although they were very good, they talked me out of things that I wanted because it wasn't 'how it's usually done'. Melissa works within the basic design elements, but elaborates on how you can modify anything to fit your taste. I love how she emphasizes how your home should be your sanctuary. Your safe and peaceful place. And that the journey to getting that place is part of the joy!.

This book is wonderful, because not only does it provide some great insight and tips for loving the home you have, it also doubles as a FANTASTIC gift for any lady-friend, on any occasion, ever! Seriously. I handed out five of these for Christmas and they were all very well-received. Birthdays, housewarming, bridal showers, anniversaries, just because. All of those are great opportunities to gift this book.Aside from the quality of gift that this book makes, I must rave about the beauty of the book! Yes, it's full of stunning photos inside, and the cover looks darn good on my book shelf or coffee table!Thanks Melissa for another superb (and good looking) read.

I bought the kindle edition, but this is one book that I will also buy the hardback edition, it’s that good! I’ve bought all of the authors books and love them all!❤️❤️❤️

Es una excelente guía para quienes si bien pueden tener buen gusto le falta un encauzamiento a las ideas. Ayuda realmente a ordenar la cabeza y calmar también un poco la ansiedad. Es una guía larga y completa (lo que se agradece muchísimo) de cómo crear tu hogar.

Great ideas, authentic. Good tips and suggestions. Explained really well. A must for the home decorator. I recommend this book.

I absolutely love this book! I actually gave mine away as a gift not long after I got it to a friend who just moved house and ordered another one for me! It makes the perfect housewarming gift!
