This is a great little NVME adapter card, it is nice and compact so utilizing it on the smaller form factor cases, where there is not much head room works out perfect. I do like the aluminum case is fully enclosed around the drive, offering better heat dissipation as well as the ability if so inclined to mount a small fan to it (not something included or intended, but I found that a small fan can be easily mounted to the back 2 screws and push air across the sides of the unit.)I do enjoy the fact that it is a full 16x slot as the locking mechanism on the motherboard holds the adapter in without having to remove and use a metal fin in the back of the PC, as other cards require that since they adapt to x4 slots and alike, which usually is not great since if the other cards are not perfect they lift a bit from the pci slot, whereas this unit stays nicely where it should and no issues on transmission due to the full 16x slot usage.It does come with multiple pieces of heat tape, the instructions are here on the listing itself as an info-graphic, which since I can not lose that I find that better than paper instructions. The design of the adapter itself is really nice, I would love to be able to get it in other colors like blue or green as when doing custom builds for my clients. I love to have everything compliment each other in both functionality and color scheme. I lucked out on the red as my color scheme on my current workstation is actually the same or similar red.The best part of this one, is simply a full x16 PCIe slot used, this does mean a bit better throughput and transmission speed.The description mentions that the contacts are gold plated with 24K gold and extra thick, this is definitely a true statement as it sits firmer then other cards I have tried in my board. The addition of gold plated heat sink lines is also nice, as most others claim the same but you can see it wear down and peel off at times on lesser cards, whereas this card holds up nicely to repeated insertions.

Honestly this adapter is way better than I thought it would be. It looks amazing inside my PC. Highly recommend it 10/10 especially if you have a red theme in your tower!Notes:Install the thermal compound pads on BOTH sides of your NVMe! You will use the blue ones if your NVMe does NOT have chips on the backside of the circuit board. If it does, you will use the red one. The difference is how thick the thermal pads are. The point of them is to kind of sandwich the NVMe between the aluminum case. If your NVMe has chips on the backside of its circuit board, the blue thermal compound pad will be too thick and squeeze your NVMe. The red one is thinner and will not squish your NVMe. Just look at the backside, if it’s flat, you will use two blues. If it looks the same from both sides, with chips and stuff on the circuit board, you will use the blue on top and red on back/bottom. It should squish the NVMe snugly but not right with the aluminum case.Use Macrium Reflect to clone your hard drive to your new SSD! It’s FREE and super easy to use.Other than that, pretty easy install. Def happy with this purchase, especially at this price!

Well it certainly does the job and is plenty speedy. I ran out of m2 ports so I had no other option. Only downside I can list is that it doesn't really "sit" that securely in the slot. Wobbles a bit. not a huge deal but worth noting.

Got this adapter to use with an NVMe drive (2TB Samsung 970 Evo Plus) in an older motherboard system. Works perfectly in an x16 PCIe slot. The drive was immediately recognized and has been working perfectly since. The nice surprise were the temperatures. I've yet to see anything over 47C, even after repeated benchmarks when I first installed the new drive. Normal operating temperature as a Windows OS drive so far is 40C or below. Thumbs up!(For anyone confused about the thermal pad placement: the two thicker ones are to use on both sides of your NVMe drive. The thin one is only for a thicker NVMe drive with chips on both sides--use it on the underside of the NVMe drive instead of one of the thick pads in that case.)

Easy to install and functional.

This is really a specialty market item that appeals to X-79 enthusiasts like myself. If you know anything about this you know that X-79 had the code for M2-NVME baked into it but was never implemented. (with one notable exception) Most people have found themselves frustrated in the pursuit of such an end. Most of the interfaces don't seem to work properly or sometimes not at all. This baby works like a charm and no extra drivers or having to use legacy mode or any of that Nonsense. The design is very well thought out and the build quality is high. The whole casing acts as a heat sink. 2 heat conductive pads come with the device plus extra screws! It has its own Drive activity light. The whole package is extremely attractive and functional. I plan on getting another one of these so I can add another M2 to put all my games on. Oh and last but not least it inexpensive! This is not just for X-79 Enthusiasts you can use this if for some reason you need or want 3 M2's on a modern Motherboard. Highly recommended.

2 of these work perfectly in an old Ivy Bridge based system using WD SN750 Black 1TB SSDs. System booted and Windows immediately recognized without any need for BIOS tweaks or drivers - about as easy an install as one could hope for.Initially installed one drive without the thermal pads and ‘lid’ of case/heat sink and other with full sandwich of pads and case/heat sink to see if temp difference between the two was noticeable. Turns out it’s a very big difference in temps between the two which surprised me given the thickness of the thermal pads (blue ones used on both sides) and lack of any fins on the enclosures but still 10-15 degree C drop in temps compared to bare drive. After testing both drives for baselines I reinstalled the other drive with thermal pads and case and both now operate within 1 degree C of each other.

Buscaba un adaptador para hacer uso de SSD tipo NVMe que tengo de 1 Tb. Mi equipo no dispone en forma nativa de ese slot. De entre todo lo que encontre, este adaptador me pareció el mejor, ya que no degrada en nada la velocidad de acceso haciendo uso del BUS de PCIe 16. Lo instalé y el equipo lo detecto al instante. Lo revise con la app CrystalDiskInfo y lo reconoce sin mayor problema. Recomiendo ampliamente el adaptador.
