My first print with Mineral paper on my Gel Plate
This is extraordinary art paper. It has a smooth vellum-like feel and seems to work well with acrylics on the gel plate and hold the colour well tho maybe not too many layers at once. I’m exploring its properties.

Wonderful paper for alcohol inks
Very easy to use with alcohol inks. Folds and cuts easily.

Tried it successfully with alcohol ink.
Wonderful paper for origami and alcohol ink. It almost feels like a silky fabric. It doesn’t tear and is slightly more absorbent than Yupo paper.

works well with alcohol ink
love this paper for alcohol inks and such. paper is pretty durable but thin. has about the same texture as traditional paper to the touch, but given the material it is made of, it may affect how pencils and pens work. (definitely wouldn't recommend using a high quality fountain pen on it) the price was cheaper than I found elsewhere.

My pad came bent
The bad: This paper is quite thin and will keep crease lines if it is bent/damaged, which is what happened to my pad during shipping. I've had this pad since September 2022 and the photos are from today, January 13. I don't think I will trust ordering it from Amazon again, given the very poor manner it was packaged. It's too bad, because I would really like to try the newer version of this paper, but have been unable to find it elsewhere. Yasutomo claims on their website: A great alternative to wood-based paper. Tear resistant, foldable, and non-wrinkling. Will not bleed through even when soaked. Mineral paper is a great surface for almost any media wet or dry, and can be ink jet printed (results will vary depending on the printer). Its bright white vellum like surface allows for crisp lines, saturated colors and just the right amount of absorbency for a wide variety of creative techniques. Tear resistant: It's pretty easy to tear, but it is more resistant to tearing than wood-pulp paper of similar thickness. If you really want to tear it though, you can. Foldable: Yes Non-wrinkling: In my experience, it will definitely wrinkle and hold on to wrinkles and creases. This claim seems a little at odds with it being foldable. Will not bleed through when soaked: It does not bleed through Great surface for most media (except oil based products: paint, pastels, etc.): In my experience, yes. It does well with alcohol ink and alcohol ink markers, standard writing pens and pencils. It works with watercolor, but it's very different from working with watercolor paper - I think it would work best with gansai and Japanese watercolor techniques.

brilliant
The first time I tried this, I didn't know what to make of it. It didn't have the feel or hand of paper, and pencil or watercolor basically disappeared if I wiped it. But I took it on a trip that I had to make, stuck some sheets cut to size to fit a small shoulder art bag and brought along some art pens so I could doodle on the flight. The flight was long, but I was having a blast. The passenger sitting next to me asked if I was an artist, and I told her I was. Then she offered me a tangerine. I traded her the sketch I was working on for the tangerine, so we both came out ahead. Will sketch for food! This mineral paper is perfect for art pens. It gives a brilliant contrast.

Really nice for liquid media
This paper works great for ink, watercolor, etc. It doesn’t absorb so the liquid dries on the surface. Doesn’t really work for pencil drawing, I think because it is too smooth and doesn’t grab the graphite. It comes it a tablet vs plastic wrap, so the corners stayed flat in transit.

Fun paper to work with
I'd never tried mineral paper before and thought I'd give it a go. The paper is very, very smooth and works great with alcohol ink or even food coloring pretending to be alcohol ink. I've also used it with fine liners, charcoal, and acrylics. It holds up pretty well and is really fun to experiment with. It still amazes me that they can make paper from rocks!

Excellent product for alcohol ink. Can also be folded easily, whilst not tearing! Despatched quickly too.

There are only 20sheets of this paper. The pad arrived after a very long wait with the first page pulled out crumpled up on one side and put back. Unfortunately Unusable. Bit galling considering the price!

Interesting paper! I have never used it before and wasn’t sure what to expect. IMO it’s not good for watercolours but will try again maybe with ink pens. It’s very very smooth and ridiculously thin but strong! Has a more flat finish, not glossy. There’s nothing wrong with it, I just have to experiment.
