Sounds of the Wild: Forest (Pledger Sounds)

This book is good for children of many ages. For the youngest, it is a pop-up book. For older children, it is filled with many interesting facts about animals. The illustrations are beautiful. The noises add a fun dimension. Maurice Pledger is a wonderful author! My 2, 4, and 8 year old grandchildren all enjoy the books!

I initially purchased this for my toddler grand daughter, but after looking the book over, I may just keep it for myself (at least for a few years). Seriously, I fell in love with this book! The book includes: 5 pop-up panoramas of : A Sunny Clearing: Deciduous forest in Europe, The Forest Floor: Deciduous forest in Europe, Deep in the North: Boreal forest in the northern U.S., near Canada, Winter in the Forest: Deciduous forest in Russia and Mountain Slopes: Mountainous landscape in the Rocky Mountains The 3-D art work and pop-ups are just amazing and the sounds of the animals so very realistic as well. This is definitely one of those books I would purchase over and over again for gift giving. A "keeper" for sure.

I bought this one and many others from the "Sound of the Wild" collection I rated these 4 stars as there has been a lot of effort and thought put into these books with that said I would give an appropriate age rating of 6+ as they cannot be fully appreciated by younger kids that haven't learned to read yet Sounds are not necessarily relevant to the scene They weigh a lot so if your shipping it to a international mail forwarding facility I would suggest to ship internationally with amazon I'm not rating this specific book but the whole collection

My three year old nephew loves these Pledger Sounds books. They are beautiful and the pop-up illustrations together with the realistic sounds, make these books so enjoyable for the little ones!

Better for an older child. My grandson loves all books about animals but at age 4 this one had too much information. Will save and bring out when he is a little older.

This is our 2nd copy - 1st copy loved to death! We have almost all of the books in this 'sounds of the wild' series. This is by far the favorite - I think because of the variety of animal types and the sounds. There are lots of easily identifiable animals, great settings, and good sound variety. Like all the ones in this series it is best for kids under 2 to read with an adult or the pop-ups may get torn/ roughed up. However my 3 year old does great with them and begs to take them to show & share.

We live in the mountains and see wild animals all the time. This will be a great book for my grandson to take back to the city. Artwork and pop ups are beautiful.

This was purchased as a gift for my 7 year old nephew. He and his 5 yr old brother were quite taken by the pictures and the sounds. It was great to have a written description on the page that you could read to them giving a better understanding of each animal.
